Koodli, also spelled Kudli or Kudali, is a small historic village in Shimoga District, in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is at the sangam (confluence) of two rivers, the Tunga River and Bhadra River at nearly 1,200 metres (3,937 ft). They meet here to give rise to the Tungabhadra River, a tributary of the Krishna river. Their valleys host many architectural sites. The village was a much larger town and pilgrimage center before the 14th-century, one destroyed during the Islamic conquests of the south. Important temples and their ruins here include the Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Sangamesvara temple, Ramesvara temple, Sri Chintamani Narasimha temple, Sringeri Vediki temple, Vishwakarma temple, Sharadamba temple, Amma Devasthana, and the Brahmeswara temple. Other scattered ruins of unknown temples are also found here.
Belur Math is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, founded by Swami Vivekananda, the chief disciple of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. It is located in Belur, West Bengal, India on the west bank of Hooghly River. Belur Math was established in January 1897, by Swami Vivekananda who was the disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. Swami Vivekananda returned back to India from Colombo with a small group of disciples and started work on the two one at Belur, and the others at Mayavati, Almora, Himalayas called the Advaita Ashrama. The temple is the heart of the Ramakrishna movement. It is notable for its architecture that fuses Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, and Christian art and motifs as a symbol of unity of all religions. In 2003, Belur Math railway station was also inaugurated which is dedicated to Belur Math Temple.

Palnati Yuddham is a 1966 Indian Telugu-language historical war film directed by G. Ramineedu. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Bhanumathi with music composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. The film is based on the Battle of Palnadu which occurred in Palnadu region in c. 1180 CE. It was produced by T. Hanumantha Rao, Y. Lakshmaiah Chowdary, and D. Suryanarayana under the Sri Anurupa Films banner. The film was first made under the same title in 1947. It received the Certificate of Merit for Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 13th National Film Awards.
