Jarkko Huovila (born 15 November 1975) is a Finnish orienteering competitor and World Champion. He participated on the Finnish winning team in the 2001 World Orienteering Championships. [1] He also has silver medals from the 2003 and 2006 Team Events, and individual medals from the Short Distance (silver in 2006, and a bronze in 2005). [1] He won the Jukola relay in 2000, 2003 and 2012.
Jani Lakanen is a Finnish orienteering competitor, winner of the 2006 World Orienteering Championships.
Pasi Ikonen was a Finnish orienteering competitor, winner of the middle distance at the 2001 World Orienteering Championships. His other achievements include two individual silver medals at the world championships, and medals at the World Games and the European championships.
Outi Borgenström is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She won the 1979 Individual World Orienteering Championships, and took bronze medal 1974. She is also Relay World Champion, as a member of the Finnish winning team 1978.
Heli Jukkola is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She won the Long Distance World Orienteering Championships in 2007, and achieved second place in 2005. In the Middle Distance category, she finished second in 2007 and third in both 2003 and 2004. Jukkola is a two-time Relay World Champion, winning in 2006 and 2007 as a member of the Finnish team. She also earned a silver medal in 2004.
Kirsi Boström is a Finnish orienteering competitor and World champion. She won the 1999 Classic distance World Orienteering Championships. She won a gold medal at the 1995 World Orienteering Championships in Detmold with the Finnish relay team. She received silver medals with the relay team in 1993 and in 1999 (Inverness).
Juha Peltola is a Finnish orienteering competitor and World Champion. He participated on the Finnish winning team in the 2001 World Orienteering Championships. He also has a silver medal from the 1999 Short Distance, and silver medals from the 1997 and 1999 Team Events.
Sinikka Kukkonen was a Finnish orienteering competitor. She is World Champion in both orienteering and ski orienteering. She became the first World Champion in ski orienteering, in 1975.
Johanna Asklöf is a Finnish orienteering competitor and World champion.
Eija Koskivaara is a Finnish orienteering competitor and World champion. She won a gold medal at the 1995 World Orienteering Championships in Detmold with the Finnish relay team. She received a silver medal with the relay team in 1993, and a bronze medal in 1989 (Skaraborg). She received an individual bronze medal at the 1993 World Championships and a silver medal at the 1995 World Championships.
Erkki Kohvakka was a Finnish orienteering competitor and European champion. He won a gold medal in the individual 1964 European Orienteering Championships in Le Brassus, and also a gold medal with the Finnish relay team. He was also member of the Finnish team that won the relay at the 1962 European championships, while not part of the official program.
Mats Haldin is a Finnish orienteering competitor and two-time European champion with the Finnish relay team. He received a silver medal with the Finnish relay team at the 2003 World Orienteering Championships in Rapperswil/Jona, and again in 2006 in Aarhus. He received a bronze medal in relay at the 2007 World Championships in Kyiv. At the 2009 World Orienteering Championships in Miskolc he won a bronze medal in the relay, together with Topi Anjala and Tero Föhr.
Rolf Koskinen was a Finnish orienteering competitor and European champion. He won a gold medal with the Finnish relay team at the 1964 European Orienteering Championships in Le Brassus. He was also member of the Finnish team that won the relay at the 1962 European championships, while not part of the official program.
Liisa Anttila is a Finnish orienteering and ski-orienteering champion.
Jorma Karvonen is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor and world champion. He won a gold medal at the first World Ski Orienteering Championships in Hyvinkää in 1975 in the relay event with the Finnish team. He also received an individual silver medal in 1975, and a bronze medal at the 1977 World Championships in Avesta.
Markku Salminen was a Finnish orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the relay event and finished 13th in the individual event at the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping. In 1970 he finished 4th with the Finnish relay team. In 1974 he finished 16th in the individual event, and received a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. In 1976 he finished 5th in the individual event, and received a bronze in the relay.
Staffan Tunis in Vörå is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the middle distance and a bronze medal in the sprint at the 2007 World Ski Orienteering Championships. He finished 5th with the Finnish relay team at the 2007 world championships.
Jukka Lanki is a Finnish ski-orienteering competitor who has represented Finland internationally from 1996. He has achieved silver medals at the world championships, both individually and in the relay. In the World Cup his best overall result is finishing second in 2001, as well as several victories in individual races.
Mika Tervala is a Finnish mountain bike orienteering competitor, World Champion and European Champion. He won individual gold medals at the 2002, 2006 and 2007 World Championships, and a gold medal in the relay in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Mika coaches the Finnish national mountain bike orienteering teams since spring 2008.
Päivi Tommola is a Finnish mountain bike orienteering competitor, World Champion and European Champion. She won individual gold medals at the 2002 and 2005 World Championships, and gold medals in the relay in 2002, 2004 and 2007.
Tampereen Pyrintö ry is a Finnish multi-sport club from Tampere. Pyrintö representatives have achieved several Olympic medals and other success. In the year 2017, Pyrintö has sport sections in cross-country skiing, basketball, ski jumping, weightlifting, orienteering, athletics, cheerleading, and speed skating. In the past it has also had teams in pesäpallo and ice hockey.
