Jarmo Hirvasoja (born 4 September 1954) is a former international speedway rider from Finland. [1] [2] [3]

Speedway career

Hirvasoja became a world champion after winning the gold medal at the Individual Ice Speedway World Championship in the 1990 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship. [4] [5]

Previously, he had won a silver medal in 1985 and two bronze medals at the Team Ice Racing World Championship. [6]

The 1990 Individual Ice Speedway World Championship was the 25th edition of the World Championship The Championship was held on 10 and 11 March 1990 at the Ruddalen in Gothenburg in Sweden.

The 1992 Team Ice Racing World Championship was the 14th edition of the Team World Championship. The final was held on 8/9 February, 1992, in Oulu, Finland. The Soviet Union had disbanded and raced as the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The 2020 FIM Ice Speedway World Championship was the 55th edition of the FIM Individual Ice Racing World Championship season. The world champion was determined by ten races hosted in five cities Almata, Tolyatti, Shadrinsk, Inzell and Heerenveen between 1 February and 8 April 2020. However the fourth and fifth rounds were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the standings after three rounds were declared the official results.
