Jarret DeHart (born October 2,1994) is an American professional baseball coach. He is the one of the hitting coaches for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Raised in Medford,New Jersey,DeHart played prep baseball at Shawnee High School. [1] He attended Louisiana State University his freshman year of college,playing college baseball for the LSU Tigers. [2] After his 2014 freshman year,he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [3] He transferred to Howard College for his sophomore year of college. He then transferred to Tulane University for his final two years of college,playing for the Tulane Green Wave. [4]
DeHart joined the Seattle Mariners organization and served as a coach for the AZL Mariners in 2018. In 2019,he served as a minor league hitting strategist for the organization. [5]
On November 7,2019,DeHart was named the assistant hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners. [6]
On November 15,2021,DeHart was promoted by the Mariners to hitting coach and director of hitting strategy. This promotion coincided with the departure of former hitting coach Tim Laker,who declined the club's offer to return. [7]
Christopher Michael Woodward is an American former professional baseball utility player and coach,who is currently the manager of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Texas Rangers. Woodward played in MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays,New York Mets,Atlanta Braves,Seattle Mariners,and Boston Red Sox,from 1999 through 2012. He served as a coach for the Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers,from 2014 through 2018,prior to being hired by the Rangers.
Jason Matthew Vargas is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins,Seattle Mariners,Los Angeles Angels,Kansas City Royals,New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies. The Marlins drafted Vargas in the second round of the 2004 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in 2005. In 2017,he was an All Star and tied for the American League lead in wins.
Timothy John Laker is an American professional baseball catcher and coach. He is the hitting coach for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the Montreal Expos,Baltimore Orioles,Tampa Bay Devil Rays,Pittsburgh Pirates,and Cleveland Indians from 1992 through 2006.
Antone James "Andy" Pilney was an American football coach and player of football and baseball. He played football and baseball at the University of Notre Dame in the mid-1930s and then professional baseball from 1936 to 1939. Pilney had a three-game stint in Major League Baseball with the Boston Bees in July 1936. He served as the head football coach at Tulane University from 1954 to 1961,compiling a record of 25–49–6.
