Jas Binag (born 16 April) is an Indo-British Actor/Model. He first appeared on Channel 4's "Bollywood Star" and later performed in many Theatre Plays including the Pulitzer Prize nominated play "A Perfect Ganesh" written by Terrence McNally directed by Samir Bhamra. He has acted in films such as; Kaam Ka Plot, Graveyard Shift and "Souten 2" by Saawan Kumar Tak. Recently, he has been working on a crime thriller called Badnaam (Vikram Bhatt) and London Confidential directed by Kanwal Sethi which tackles the issue of COVID-19.[ citation needed ]
He began his acting career in the Bollywood Star series by Channel 4. [1] He shifted his focus to theatre and stage, and starred as the lead actor in productions such as Precious Bazaar [2] written by Samir Bhamra, contemporary adaptations of William Shakespeare plays like What You Fancy, Romeo & Laila, and A Perfect Ganesh.
He has acted in Minty Tejpals "Kaam Ka Plot" playing opposite Sandhya Mridul. His second movie in Bollywood was "Graveyard Shift" where he portrayed a troubled Boxer. He has worked with director Saawan Kumar in the Rajesh Khanna sequel "Souten 2".
His last two projects have bought him back to London, where he has completed filming for the Vikram Bhatt crime thriller,"Badnaam" and London Confidential.
Jas has also ventured into the world of web shows. His latest show was the "Alt Balaji" series called Mentalhood.
Ashok Kumar, was an Indian actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He was considered the first big star of Indian cinema as well as the first lead actor to play an anti-hero. He also became the first star to reinvent himself, enjoying a long and hugely successful career as a character actor. He was a member of the cinematic Ganguly family. Rahul Roy is an Indian actor, producer and former model known for his works in Hindi films and television. Usha Khanna is an Indian music director in Hindi cinema. She is the third female music director to enter the Hindi film industry, after Jaddan Bai and Saraswati Devi and is one of the most commercially successful music directors in the male dominated music industry. She is most known for songs like “maine rakha hai mohabbat” (Shabnam), “Hum tum say juda ho ke”, “gaa deewane jhoom ke”, "Chhodo kal ki baatein", "Shaayad meri shaadi ka khayal" (Souten), and “tu is tarah Se meri zindagi”. She remained active for more than 3 decades from 1960s to 1980s. She is still active making some music for some movies and television-serials, more than 40 years after her debut as music director in Dil Deke Dekho (1959). She received a Filmfare Award nomination for composing the songs for the huge hit film Souten (1983). She was married to director, producer, lyricist, Sawan Kumar Tak, from whom she separated later on.
Vikram Bhatt is an Indian director, producer, screenwriter and actor. He is best known for directing the Raaz film series, an Indian horror series produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt and for directing Ghulam (1998) starring Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherji, which was also produced by Mukesh Bhatt. For both of these films, he was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Director.
Kasoor (transl. Fault) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language legal thriller film produced under Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films and directed by Vikram Bhatt. It features Aftab Shivdasani in his second Bollywood appearance and Lisa Ray in her Bollywood debut. Ray's voice was dubbed by Divya Dutta, while Shivdasani's voice was dubbed by Bhatt himself. Featuring Apoorva Agnihotri, Irrfan Khan and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles, the film was released on 2 February 2001. It was a moderate commercial success, and continues to remain notable for the soundtrack composed by Nadeem–Shravan.
Ashmit Patel is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. Brother of the actress Ameesha Patel, he began his career as an assistant director and later progressed to leading roles in Bollywood productions. He was the second runner-up on the reality show Bigg Boss 4 (2010–11).
Bardaasht is a 2004 Indian Hindi-language vigilante action-thriller film produced by Vijay Galani and directed by Eeshwar Nivas. It is based on the screenplay written by Vikram Bhatt. The film stars Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta, Ritesh Deshmukh, Tara Sharma, and Rahul Dev, with Vishwajeet Pradhan, Ganesh Yadav, Nagesh Bhonsle, Shivaji Satam, and Virendra Saxena in important supporting roles. The film focuses on the issue of police brutality.
Souten is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Saawan Kumar Tak, starring Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Prem Chopra and Pran. It was written by Kamleshwar, with music by Usha Khanna. The song "Shayad Meri Shaadi" sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar became especially memorable. Khanna's chemistry with Munim also proved popular. The film was remade in Kannada as Krishna Nee Begane Baro and in Telugu as Tene Manasulu.
Gulshan Kumar Mehta, popularly known by his pen name Gulshan Bawra, was an Indian songwriter and actor in Hindi cinema. In a career spanning 42 years, he has to his credit about 240 songs, he collaborated with noted music directors like Kalyanji Anandji, Shankar Jaikishan, and R. D. Burman. He composed almost half of the songs in films like Khel Khel Mein (1975), Kasme Vaade (1978) and Satte Pe Satta (1982). Apart from R. D. Burman hits, he is most remembered for his songs like 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti" in Upkaar (1968) and "Yaari Hai Imaan Mera" in Zanjeer (1974), both of which got him the Filmfare Best Lyricist Award. The latter also topped the Binaca Geetmala annual list of 1973. As a character actor, he also appeared in a small number of Hindi films.
Murder 3 is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Vishesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt from Vishesh Films. It is the third instalment in the Murder film series and a standalone sequel to the 2011 film Murder 2. An official remake of the 2011 film The Hidden Face, Murder 3 was released on 15 February 2013 and bombed at the box office.
Saawan Kumar Tak was an Indian film director, producer, and lyricist. He directed many Hindi films, including successful films like Saajan Bina Suhagan, Souten, Souten Ki Beti, Sanam Bewafa, Bewaffa Se Waffa. He is credited with giving break to actors such as Sanjeev Kumar and Mehmood Junior. His most famous directorial venture was Rajesh Khanna starrer Souten, which was the first Indian film to be shot in Mauritius and was a platinum jubilee hit.
2 States is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. Based on Chetan Bhagat's 2009 novel of the same name with the story rewritten by Varman and Bhagat, the film stars Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt with Amrita Singh, Ronit Roy, Revathi and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam in supporting roles.
Ankur Arora Murder Case is a 2013 Indian Hindi medical thriller film directed by Suhail Tatari and written and produced by Vikram Bhatt. The film stars Arjun Mathur, Tisca Chopra, Kay Kay Menon, Paoli Dam. The film takes up an urgent and disturbing issue of death during surgery and is based on a real-life incident where a boy dies on the operation table due to medical negligence. The shooting of the film started after nearly one year of research, and similarities to real life are in this case, not coincidental. The movie was released on 14 June 2013 and made a profit of 2.5 Crores approximately. It was declared semi hit.
Bhaag Johnny is a 2015 Bollywood thriller film directed by Shivam Nair, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Bhatt, and Ajay Kapoor. The film stars Kunal Khemu, Mandana Karimi and Zoa Morani in leading roles. It was released on 25 September 2015.
Patralekhaa Paul Rao known mononymously as Patralekhaa, is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films. Paul made her acting debut with drama film CityLights (2014), for which she won the Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer – Female.
