Jasad is a death metal band from Bandung, Indonesia, formed in 1990. [1]
The band was formed by bassist Yuli in 1990; the Indonesian word "Jasad" means "dead bodies". Yuli is the original member left today. [2]
In their early years, the band had already have their own materials, but mostly were lost for whatever reasons. Their first EP C'est La Vie was released in 1996 through Palapa Records, a local independent label from Bandung. [3]
In 1999 vocalist Man and guitarist Ferly joined the band. The other two personnels were drummer Dani Papap and original bassist Yuli. This would be their first solid line-up until 2011 when Dani quits. Their debut full-length album Witness of Perfect Torture was released in 2001 through Rottrevore Records, [4] followed by two demos Ripping The Pregnant in 2001 and Demo 2005 in 2005.
The second album Annihilate The Enemy was released in 2005 through Sevared Records. [5]
A split DVD named Rottrevore Death Fest was released in 2006. It's a split compilation DVD containing four Indonesian metal bands including Jasad. The three other bands are Siksakubur, Forgotten and Disinfected. [5]
On 2011 Dani Papap quit the band, ending the 12 years of solid line-up since 1999. Dani was replaced by Abaz and they released the third album Rebirth of Jatisunda in 2013 through Extreme Souls Production. Unlike their first two albums which contains several English lyrics, Rebirth of Jatisunda is a blend of Indonesian, Sundanese and English lyrics. [6]

Mortification is an Australian Christian death metal band which was formed in 1987 as a heavy metal group, Lightforce, by mainstay Steve Rowe on bass guitar and vocals. By 1990, in the Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin, they were renamed as Mortification with the line-up of Rowe, Michael Carlisle on guitar and Jayson Sherlock on drums. As one of the earliest internationally successful Christian death metal bands from Australia, they served as an inspiration for later similar groups.

Alchemist was an Australian progressive metal band from Canberra whose style combined death metal, progressive rock, psychedelic, Eastern, Aboriginal and electronic influences. They are the only group to appear at every Metal for the Brain festival, an event they ran and organised from 1996. Alchemist also played at the Big Day Out and toured Europe several times.

Ancient Rites is a Belgian black metal band formed in 1988. Initially, the lineup consisted of guitar players Johan and Phillip, drummer Stefan, and Gunther Theys on bass and vocals. In 1990 the Dark Ritual demo was released in the underground scene, getting worldwide attention just as black metal was gaining importance in the metal scene. Soon after the release of this demo Phillip died in a car crash and not long after, Stefan committed suicide. However painful this episode was to the band, they decided to continue and Stefan's position was taken by his drum roadie Walter van Cortenberg.

Siksakubur is an Indonesian brutal/death metal band from Jakarta, formed in July 6, 1996 by Andyan Gorust and Ade Godel. The name of Siksakubur was chosen by Gorust that inspired by Brazilian metal band Sepultura meaning 'grave' in Portuguese as benchmark of their musicality. None of the band founders are listed as band members today, but the legacy of Siksakubur was continued by Andre Tiranda. Siksakubur is a band that started they career crept from the grave, began from small concerts and events until international scale events has been through. With consistency and discipline, a journey of more than 2 decades has made Siksakubur equal with the top metal bands and as one of the influential death metal bands in Indonesian metal scene. Siksakubur also listed as Metal Hammer's "Top 10 Best Indonesian Metal Bands" and awarded The Hammersonic Awards as "Breakthrough of The Year" at The Hammersonic Festival on May 7, 2017.
