Jaume Clotet i Planas (Barcelona, 16 May 1974) is a Catalan journalist, historian and writer. [1]

Graduated in Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and in History at the University of Barcelona, he was head of the politics section of the Catalan newspaper Avui. He was a correspondent in Basque Country between 2001 and 2003 for Avui and Ona Catalana. Between 2003 and 2008 he was head of press at the Catalan Government and between 2008 and 2010 he held the position of deputy director of the Catalan News Agency. He is a founding member of the Ramon Barnils Group of Journalists and has collaborated in various media, such as Diari Ara, El Punt Avui, TV3, Público , Ona Catalana and RAC 1. [2]

He is co-author, with Quim Torra, of Les millors obres de la literatura catalana (comentades pel censor) (A Contra Vent, 2010) and of the historical novel Lliures o morts (Columna, 2012), with the journalist David de Montserrat. In 2014 he published 50 moments imprescindibles de la història de Catalunya (Columna). He has also published some children's stories, like La meva primera Diada. [3]

In 2014 he curated the Eugeni Xammar year for the Catalan Government. [4] In 2016 he was appointed Director General of Communications of the Government of the Catalan Government for Carles Puigdemont's cabinet.

As a writer, he has won the Nèstor Luján Prize in 2016 and in 2024 the Josep Pla Award. [5]

The Ramon Llull Novel Award is an honor given annually to a novel originally written in Catalan. Conceived in 1981 by editor José Manuel Lara Hernández, it is awarded by the Planeta publishing house in conjunction with the Government of Andorra. It confers a monetary prize, originally 250,000 pesetas and now €60,000. It recognizes works of the greatest economic value in the Catalan language.

The Maria Àngels Anglada Prize is a Catalan literary award, given annually by the Institut Ramon Muntaner, in Figueres (Spain), with the aim of contributing to the promotion of Catalan literature, reaffirming the civic and cultural projection of the school and extolling the memory of the writer Maria Àngels Anglada, ex-professor of the centre. The award has the support of the Geli-Anglada family and the sponsorship of the Ajuntament de Figueres and the Diputació de Girona, as well as the collaboration of the Consell Comarcal de l'Alt Empordà.

Carles Capdevila i Plandiura was a Catalan journalist and writer, director of the newspaper Ara for its first five years and from 28 November 2015 onwards founding director. He presented and directed the programmes Eduqueu les criatures in Catalunya Ràdio and Qui els va parir in TV3. He was deputy director of the program Malalts de tele. He directed the section Alguna pregunta més?, within El matí de Catalunya Ràdio. He received the humor and satire award 'Premi Pere Quart d'humor i sàtira' in 1999 for the book Criatura i companyia and in 2016 the National Prize for Communication. He died from colorectal cancer on 1 June 2017.

The Carles Riba Poetry Prize is a literary prize for Catalan-language works awarded by the Edicions Proa publishing house with funding by the Catalan Encyclopedia Foundation. The winning poem is selected from original, unpublished poems during the Literary Night of Saint Lucía, organized by the Òmnium Cultural association. It has an endowment of €5,000.
