Selection to the college is done on the basis of merit through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test. The yearly undergraduate student intake is 250.

Since 1990, the college offers the degree Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).

Campus, hospital facilities, and amenities

The campus is spread across 125 acres. There is a central laboratory, a 24/7 blood bank, a primary hospital with 1400 beds (Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital), a superspecialty centre with 350 beds (Shalinitai Meghe Superspeciality Centre), and a cancer hospital with 100 beds (Late Siddharth Gupta Memorial Hospital). There are separate accommodations (8 hostels) for boys and girls, including apartment facilities for post-graduate students.

The various on-campus amenities and facilities include a large swimming pool, a fitness centre (health club), an open gymnasium, a jogging track, a cricket and football stadium, a basketball court, tennis and badminton courts, a food court, an open cafe, a research centre, an auditorium, guest house facilities for parents and guardians, a central library with an external reading room facility, and a mortuary with post mortem facilities.

Medical education in India Medical education

The standard entry-to-practice degree in modern medicine in India is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Among Modern Medicine, Alternative System of Medicine in India Such as Ayurveda, Unani (BUMS), Siddha(BSMS), Homeopathy (BHMS). MBBS a credential earned upon completion of a five-and-a-half-year undergraduate program. The curriculum is divided into one year of preclinical studies in general science subjects and three and a half years of paraclinical and clinical studies, followed by a one-year clinical internship. Before beginning the internship, students are required to pass several examinations, the final one of which is conducted in two parts. Graduate education in medical specialties typically takes three additional years of study after the MBBS and concludes with the award of the Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine(MBBS). Postgraduate diplomas in medical specializations may also be awarded upon the completion of two-year training programs.
