Jean-Baptiste Dejeanty, born 13 February 1978 is a French professional sailor born in Paimpol in Brittany [1] but now living in Port-Louis.
He studied Naval Architecture at University of Southampton. In 2001, he opened his own construction site, Artech, and built a Mini 6.50 with which he took part in the Transat 6.50 in 2003. He then moved to the IMOCA class and in 2008 he was the youngest competitor to start the Vendée Globe in Maisonneuve - Lower Normandy Region although he retired due to structural failure. [2] He tried to have a campaign for the 2012 edition but had funding issues caused by the sponsor not putting forwards the agreed funds. [3]

The Vendée Globe is a single-handed (solo) non-stop round the world yacht race. The race was founded by Philippe Jeantot in 1989, and since 1992 has taken place every four years. It is named after the Département of Vendée, in France, where the race starts and ends. The Vendée Globe is considered an extreme quest of individual endurance and the ultimate test in ocean racing.
Mike Golding is an English yachtsman, born in Great Yarmouth and educated at Reading Blue Coat School. He is one of the few yachtsmen to have raced round the world non stop in both directions. He held the solo record for sailing round the world westabout between 1994 and 2000.
Michel Desjoyeaux is a French sailor, known for competing successfully in several long-distance single-handed races. He won the Vendée Globe race in 2000-01 and 2008–09, making him the only person to win that race more than once. In 2014-15, he was watch captain, on leg 1 on Mapfre in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Bernard Gallay is a Franco-Swiss yachtsman and businessman. He has competed in the Vendée Globe twice and finished his career as a professional sailor whilst participating in the Transat 6.50 in 2005. In 1994, he moved to Montpellier in the South of France and founded Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage. He still competes in amateur races such as Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez and the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
Conrad Colman is a yachtsman from New Zealand with dual nationality of New Zealand and America and is now based in France. In 2016 he became the first New Zealander to compete in the famous single-handed around-the-world race, the Vendée Globe. On 10 February 2017 Colman was in 10th place, 740 miles from the finish line when his IMOCA 60, the Foresight Natural Energy, was dismasted. Two weeks later he became the 3rd sailor in history to complete the Vendée Globe under jury rig, taking 16th place in the race with a time of just under 110 days 2 hours. Colman ran out of food after the dismasting, and completed the race on survival rations pillaged from his life raft.
Pip Hare is a British yachtswoman, journalist and sailing coach. She is an entrant in the 2020 Vendée Globe round-the-world yacht race.
Kevin Escoffier is a French professional sailor born on 4 April 1980 in Saint-Malo, France and a resident of Lorient. He is an offshore sailor who has won the 2018 Volvo Ocean Race as a bowman onboard DongFen. and competed in the 2020–2021 Vendée Globe aboard PRB. Yannick Bestaven is a French offshore sailor born on 28 December 1972 in Saint-Nazaire in the Loire-Atlantique region. He won the Transat 6.50 in 2001, was twice winner of the Transat Jacques-Vabre, and won the Vendee Globe in 2020-21.

Alain Gautier was born on 8 May 1962 in Lorient, and is a French professional offshore sailor. He is best known for winning the 1992–1993 Vendée Globe. He currently heads Lanic Sport Development which was founded in 1989, specializing in the preparation of and assistance to offshore racing teams including those of Ellen MacArthur in 1998 and Isabelle Joschke in 2019. He headed with Bertrand Pacé the Aleph challenge for the 34th America's Cup in 2013 but the team never got the funding required. It competed in the America's Cup World Series on supplied AC45 catamarans before withdrawing.
Marc Thiercelin, known as "Captain Marck", is a French professional yachtsman, born on October 29, 1960 in Saâcy-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne). He totals five solo rounds of the world together with 22 transatlantic races, seven editions of the Solitaire du Figaro and five Tour de France sailing. He completed four complete tours of Antarctica and four solo Cape Horns for a total of 700,000 km covered on all the world's oceans.
Bernard Stamm, is a Swiss professional yachtsman, born on 29 November 1963 in Geneva, Switzerland. He competed in the Vendee Globe three times but never officially completed the course. In 2012 edition he did complete the course but was disqualified from the race before the finish.

Kito de Pavant whose whole name is Christophe Fourcault de Pavant is a French sailor born on 23 February 1961 in Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière in the Dordogne region.
Patrick de Radiguès was born in Leuven, Belgium on July 25, 1956 and now based in Monaco. He started his racing cars and motorcyles competing at Le Mans. He started sailing world at the 36 years old and liked the adventure of short handed offshore. He was lucky to survive the 2000 Vendee Globe accident in which he was knocked unconscious and the boat washed up ashore.
