Denise "Dee" Caffari MBE is a British sailor, and in 2006 became the first woman to sail single-handedly and non-stop around the world "the wrong way"; westward against the prevailing winds and currents. In February 2009, Caffari completed the Vendée Globe race and set a new record to become the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world in both directions.

They circumnavigated the planet in 40 days, 23 hours, 30 minutes and 30 seconds.

Hervé Laurent was a French sailor from Lorient, Morbihan. He competed in the Vendee Globe round the yacht race twice in 1996 and 2004. Laurent died on 29 August 2024, at the age of 67.
Patrick de Radiguès was born in Leuven, Belgium on 25 July 1956 and now based in Monaco. He started his racing cars and motorcycles competing at Le Mans. He started sailing world at the 36 years old and liked the adventure of short handed offshore. He was lucky to survive the 2000 Vendee Globe accident in which he was knocked unconscious and the boat washed up ashore.

The IMOCA 60 Class yacht L'Occitane en Provence, FRA 2, was designed by Sam Manuard and launched on the 31st January 2020 after being assembled by Black Pepper Yachts based in Nantes, France. Pauger Composites in Hungary did the hull moulding.
The IMOCA 60 Class yacht Paprec-Virbac 2 was designed by Farr Yacht Design, assembled by Southern Ocean Marine based in New Zealand and then shipped to France where it was launched in 2007. The boat is a sister ship to Gitana 80, also built by the same builder from the same moulds.
