Jean-Luc Godard was a Franco-Swiss film director, screenwriter, and film critic. He rose to prominence as a pioneer of the French New Wave film movement of the 1960s, alongside such filmmakers as François Truffaut, Agnès Varda, Éric Rohmer and Jacques Demy. He was arguably the most influential French filmmaker of the post-war era. According to AllMovie, his work "revolutionized the motion picture form" through its experimentation with narrative, continuity, sound, and camerawork. His most acclaimed films include Breathless (1960), Vivre sa vie (1962), Contempt (1963), Band of Outsiders (1964), Alphaville (1965), Pierrot le Fou (1965), Masculin Féminin (1966), Weekend (1967) and Goodbye to Language (2014).

Dikkenek is a 2006 Franco-Belgian comedy film directed by Olivier Van Hoofstadt. It has attained cult status in France and Belgium because of its Belgian-type humor. It follows the life of different characters for a few days under the pretense of Stef & J.C. looking for the love of Stef's life. The title Dikkenek comes from the Flemish words dikke and nek verbatim for 'fat' + 'neck' and figuratively means an arrogant boaster.
The 3rd Magritte Awards ceremony, presented by the Académie André Delvaux, honored the best films of 2012 in Belgium and took place on February 2, 2013, at the Square in the historic site of Mont des Arts, Brussels beginning at 8:00 p.m. CET. During the ceremony, the Académie André Delvaux presented Magritte Awards in 20 categories. The ceremony was televised in Belgium by BeTV. Actress Yolande Moreau presided the ceremony, while actor Fabrizio Rongione hosted the show for the first time.
