Jeannette Runciman Island is an island in the Thousand Islands archipelago, within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Ontario, Canada. [2] It was named in honour of Jeannette Runciman, the spouse of retired Canadian politician Bob Runciman. [3] [1] [4] Jeannette Runciman was killed in 2020 when she was struck by a small SUV in the parking lot of Brockville General Hospital in Brockville, Ontario. [5] [6] [7]

First elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 1981, he held the seat continuously for Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario for the next 29 years. On January 29, 2010, he was appointed to the Senate of Canada as a Conservative, where he served until August 10, 2017.
