Jamal Lewis is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. He was selected by the Ravens with the fifth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. He played college football at Tennessee. After spending his first seven seasons with the Ravens, Lewis signed a free agent contract with the Cleveland Browns prior to the 2007 season and retired after the 2009 season.

The first Commissioner who is African-American, he is also the first in any of the major American student-sports conferences in history. Warren was previously the Chief Operating Officer of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League, and was the highest-ranking African-American executive working on the business side for an NFL team. In 2015, Warren became the first African-American Chief Operating Officer of an NFL team. On June 4, 2019, Warren was elected as the Big Ten Conference Commissioner, effective January, 2020.

He began his NFL career as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2019 and was the offensive coordinator during his final two seasons. Stefanski left Minnesota to become the Browns' head coach in 2020, where he led the team to their first playoff appearance since 2002. He was named NFL Coach of the Year after the season, becoming the first Browns coach to receive the honor since 1975 and the first following the franchise's 1999 return as an expansion team.
