Jeffery Self (born February 19, 1987) is an American actor, writer, and comedian. [1]

Early life

Self is a native of Georgia, who grew up in the South. [2] After attending middle school, Self persuaded his parents to let him be homeschooled. [3]

Career

Self has appeared in many television shows as a recurring, featured or guest actor. He and Cole Escola starred in the sketch comedy series Jeffery & Cole Casserole , which aired on Logo TV for two seasons. [4] He has also appeared in Desperate Housewives , 90210 , Hot in Cleveland , Torchwood , Shameless , Difficult People , and as Liz Lemon's cousin Randy Lemon on NBC's 30 Rock . [5] He is the author of two humor books: Fifty Shades Of Gay and Straight People: A Spotters Guide, as well as the young adult novels A Very Very Bad Thing and Drag Teen. [6] [3] [7] He co-wrote, produced, and starred in the indie horror/comedy cult hit You're Killing Me. [8] He was the host of the MTV series, Scream: After Dark, a talk show devoted to deleted scenes and interviews with the cast of the popular MTV horror series Scream . [9] [10] He most recently played Marc Doober on Search Party on HBO Max.

Personal life

Self is gay. [11] He dated Patrick McDonald of Fire Island [12] for three years and publicly blogged about their breakup. [13] [14] On January 8, 2017, Self and his boyfriend, Augustus Prew, announced their engagement via Instagram. [15] [16] They were married on January 13, 2018, in Culver City, California. [17] Self's mother-in-law is the fashion designer Wendy Dagworthy. [18]

Jeffery & Cole Casserole is an American sketch comedy program that aired on Logo in 2009 and 2010. The show is written, directed and edited by real-life comedy duo Jeffery Self and Cole Escola. The series debuted on Logo June 19, 2009, and was renewed for a second season, which premiered July 9, 2010, also on Logo. The show was canceled March 17, 2011.

Scream is an American anthology slasher television series developed by Jill Blotevogel, Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie for MTV and Brett Matthews for VH1. It is based on the slasher film series of the same name created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven. The series is produced by Dimension Television and MTV Production Development, and was formerly filmed in Louisiana, in locations such as Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Blotevogel and Jaime Paglia originally served as showrunners during the first season before being replaced by Michael Gans and Richard Register in the second season, because of creative differences.

DNCE was an American dance-rock band consisting of lead singer Joe Jonas, drummer Jack Lawless, and guitarist JinJoo Lee. Bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle was a part of the band from when it started in 2015 to when it went on hiatus in 2018. DNCE's music is mainly dance-rock, dance-pop, pop rock, and funk-pop. The band signed with Republic Records, who gave them a record deal to release their debut single, "Cake by the Ocean", which was released on September 18, 2015.
