Lorain County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census,the population was 312,964. Its county seat is Elyria,and its largest city is Lorain.

Joseph Charles Schriner is an American political activist and journalist. Schriner has run for the United States presidency in six consecutive election cycles spanning from 2000 to 2020. Advocating Christian democratic policies,he has primarily run as an independent candidate,until the 2020 presidential election when he sought the American Solidarity Party nomination instead. Schriner's political views largely revolve around Catholic Social Teaching. He also ran as a Republican during the early portions of the 2000 and 2016 presidential election cycles. He also vied unsuccessfully for the Green Party presidential nomination during the 2008 election cycle.

A 1956 graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School,he earned his BS in 1960,his Masters in 1962,and his PhD in 1969 from the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed as an educator,serving as the Director of Student Activities at University of Pittsburgh,Penn State New Kensington and LCCC. John was an Outplacement and Retraining Counselor/Consultant. He was also a delegate for Democratic National Conventions in 1984,1988,and 2004. He died February 2,2018.
Gayle Manning is a member of the Ohio House of Representatives,serving since 2019. Formerly,she was a member of the Ohio Senate,serving the Thirteenth District from 2011 to 2018. Manning also taught elementary school students in North Olmsted City Schools for 37 years,winning numerous awards and citations for her accomplishments in education. She was named Educator of the Year by the North Olmsted Council of PTA and received the Teacher in American Enterprise Award from the Ohio Council on Economic Education.

Manning was an assistant prosecutor for the city of North Ridgeville before running for office. Manning is a graduate of Denison University and Capital University Law School. In the general election,Manning defeated his opponent,Democrat Brendan Mackin,56%-44% to take the seat.
