Jennifer Ann McIntyre (born October 31, 1976) [1] is an American college softball coach, and is the former head coach of the Connecticut Huskies softball team. [2]
Born in Richmond, Virginia, McIntyre graduated from Midlothian High School in Midlothian, Virginia. [3] [4] McIntyre played at Penn State from 1995 to 1998, where she was the starting third baseman for all four years. She was team MVP as a junior, and a captain in her senior year. She was named a 1997 Academic All-American, and was a three time Academic All-Big Ten selection. McIntyre is sixth all-time in stolen bases. [5]
In 2000, McIntyre became an assistant at Indiana, where she remained for two seasons. She then returned to her alma mater, Penn State for 12 seasons, rising to the position of associate head coach, and helping the Nittany Lions to 6 NCAA Division I softball championship appearances. [5] Next, McIntyre served as associate head coach at Boston University for only one season. In that season, the Terriers won the Patriot League softball tournament and recorded a win in the NCAA tournament against Louisville. On July 7, 2014, she was named head coach at Connecticut, succeeding legendary coach Karen Mullins. [6] [7] In her first season, the Huskies finished 18–35. [2] [8]

Pat Meiser is a college women's basketball coach. She is best known for her 6-year run as head coach of Penn State, in which she compiled a 92–52 record. Following that, she became the athletics director at the University of Hartford. She was named one of the nation's top 50 women's sports executives by Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal. She has also worked as the associate athletic director at the University of Connecticut.

The UConn Huskies football team is a college football team that represents the University of Connecticut in the sport of American football. The team competes in NCAA Division I FBS as an independent. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999. The Huskies began their two-year Division I-A transition period in 2000, and became a full-fledged Division I-A team in 2002. From 2000 to 2003, the team played as an independent. The school's football team then joined the conference of its other sport teams, the Big East, taking effect in 2004, through 2019. In 2019, the UConn football team left the American to again play as an independent, as the school's current primary conference, the current Big East, does not sponsor the sport. The Huskies currently are coached by Jim Mora.
Randy Douglas Edsall is a former American football coach, who was the head football coach at the University of Connecticut from 1999 to 2010 and again from 2017 until his abrupt retirement in 2021. He also served as the head coach at the University of Maryland from 2011 to 2015 and as director of football research-special projects for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) in 2016. During his first stint at UConn, he oversaw the program's promotion from the NCAA Division I-AA level to Division I-A. He is the program's all-time leader in wins and games coached.
The 2000 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament began on March 17 and ended on April 2. The tournament featured 64 teams. The Final Four consisted of Connecticut, Penn St., Tennessee, and Rutgers, with Connecticut defeating Tennessee 71-52 to win its second NCAA title. Connecticut's Shea Ralph was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

They enjoyed an undefeated season and won their sixth NCAA championship by defeating the Louisville Cardinals, 76–54.
