Jens Knipphals (born 19 May 1958) is a retired West German long jumper.
He finished eighth at the 1978 European Indoor Championships [1] and won the bronze medal at the 1983 European Indoor Championships. [2] He became West German champion in 1979 and 1980, representing the sports club VfL Wolfsburg. [3]
His personal best jump was 8.14 metres, achieved in May 1980 in East Berlin. [4]
His son, Sven Knipphals, is a sprinter.
László Szalma is a retired Hungarian long jumper. He won six medals at the European Indoor Championships—two gold, three silver and one bronze—and finished fourth at the 1980 Olympic Games and the 1983 World Championships. His career best jump of 8.30 metres, achieved in July 1985 in Budapest, is the current Hungarian record.
