Jens Lund Jensen (6 February 1873 - 30 May 1946) was a Danish sculptor. [1] [2]
Lund was born in 1883 in Videbæk, the son of innkeeper, merchant and farmer Jens Jensen Lund (1824-1909) and Johanne Nielsen (1831–80). He initially apprenticed both as a house painter and a diarist before training as a woodcarver under Sophus Petersen and Bertel Olsen for the age of 21 while in the same time attending Copenhagen Technical School. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1896 to 1901. He also worked as an assistant in Vilhelm Bissen's and Anders Bundgaard's studios. He spent three months in Italy and four months in Paris in 1906. He visited Egypt, Greece and Italy on a grant from Ankers Legat in 1914 and Germany and Austria on a grant from Zacharias Jacobsens Legat in 1922. He also made a study trip to the Netherlands and Germany in 1930. [3]
He was represented at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition in 1900 and 1902-08 as well as the Charlottenborg Autumn Exhibition in 1904-05 and 1907. He was a member of the Den Frie Udstilling from 1911. He was also represented at exhibitions in Brighton (1912), Stockholm (Liljevalch, 1919), Gothenburg (1923 and 1939), New York City (Brooklyn Museum, 1927), Oslo (1931). He was awarded the Eckersberg Medal in 1919 for a bust in oak Kunstgips Ferdinandsen and again in 1920 for Ægyptere. [4]
Lund worked with restoration of sculptures at the Danish National Gallery from 1914. He was a member of Akademirådet from March 1922, a member of the Gallery Commission in 1923-29 and was chairman of the Society for Decorative Arts (Selskabet for dekorativ kunst) and the Sculptors Association (Billedhuggerforeningen), a board member of Den Frie Udstilling and the Danish Sculptor Society (Dansk billedhuggersamfund). Jens Lund was knighted in the Order of the Dannebrog in 1934. He died at Copenhagen during 1946 and was buried at Bispebjerg Cemetery.
Peter Ilsted was a Danish printmaker and painter. He was most associated with domestic interior scenes.

Grønningen is a Danish artists cooperative whose members arrange exhibitions and similar events. Founded in 1915, it is one of the oldest and most important groupings of its kind in Denmark and currently has 54 members. It is named after the street Grønningen in Copenhagen where the first art exhibition was held.

Den Frie Udstilling is a Danish artists' association, founded in 1891 by artists in protest against the admission requirements for the Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Modeled on the Salon des Refusés, it is Denmark's oldest association of artists. Now located on Copenhagen's Oslo Plads next to Østerport Station, it works as an arts centre, continuing to exhibit works created and selected by contemporary artists rather than those chosen by cultural authorities.
Johan Gudmann Rohde was a Danish painter, lithographer and designer. He was the principal founder of Den Frie Udstilling, established in 1891 to allow artists to exhibit works which did not fall within the Academy's selection criteria.
Harald Slott-Møller was a Danish painter and ceramist. Together with his wife, the painter Agnes Slott-Møller, he was a founding member of Den Frie Udstilling.
De Tretten, also De Tretten Kunstnere, was a grouping of young Danish artists who arranged their own exhibitions in Copenhagen from 1909 to 1912 in order to display works which would not have been accepted for exhibition by the then rather traditional Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Vilhelmine "Ville" Jais Nielsen was a Danish painter and sculptor. She is remembered for the many portraits of women she painted while in Sweden during the Second World War, marked by strong brushstrokes and sensitive lighting effects. Her husband was the artist Jais Nielsen.
Johannes Martin Fasting Wilhjelm was a Danish painter. Strongly influenced by Kristian Zahrtmann, he painted bright, colourful landscapes while travelling in Italy. His works also include religious paintings and portraits. He frequently visited the artists' colony of Skagen in the north of Denmark where he painted scenes of the dunes and beaches.
Aage Bertelsen was a Danish painter. He was a member of the Denmark Expedition to North-East Greenland. He has also worked for Kähler Keramik in Næstved.
Suzette Catherine Holten was a Danish painter and ceramist who belonged to the Skovgaard family of artists. In addition to landscapes, flower paintings and portraits, she created and decorated ceramics and also worked as an embroiderer. As a woman, she was unable to achieve the same level of acclaim as her father or brothers.

Olga Rosalie Aloisa Wagner née Packness (1873–1963) was a Danish painter and sculptor. After specializing in painting at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, she was trained as a sculptor by her husband Siegfried. She worked together with him throughout her life, developing her own style. She is remembered for her large stone and bronze figures but also created smaller works in porcelain while working with Bing & Grøndahl and the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory.
Marie Dorethea Juliane (Julie) Lütken (1788–1816) was a Danish painter who specialized in landscapes. Unusually for her times when women were not admitted to the Academy, thanks to the private instruction she received from Claudius Mørch, Carl Frederik Vogt and above all Johan Ludwig Lund, she was able to exhibit at the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition in 1815. She died in May 1816 when only 28 after jumping out of a carriage drawn by a horse which had run wild.
Kleis' Kunsthandel was a commercial art gallery, frame shop and gilder's business in Copenhagen, Denmark. It developed into one of the leading art dealers in the city under the management of Vakdemar Kleis, its owner from 1878 until 1918. It was based at Vesterbrogade 58 from 1878 until 1972. It hosted the first Den Frie Udstilling in 1891. Another branch was located at Østergade 4. It closed in 1988.
