She is also an official youth bowling spokesperson for the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). She competed in the 2009-10 PBA Women's Series, which is sponsored by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). She won the 2012 USBC Queens bowling tournament.

The following year, she was the first woman of Canada to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Townsend was inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in 1994.
