Jeremiah Cooper is an American football defensive back for the Iowa State Cyclones.
Cooper was born in El Paso, Texas where he attended high school at Andress. In Cooper's high school career he played as both a receiver and as a safety. As a receiver he hauled in 78 receptions for 1,493 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also rushing for 782 yards and two touchdowns. As a safety he notched 143 tackles with seven being for a loss, a sack, 13 pass deflections, 19 interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles. [1] Cooper would decide to commit to play college football at the University of Iowa State. [2] [3]
In Cooper's freshman season in 2022 he totalled 32 tackles with half a tack being for a loss, and a pass deflection. [4] [5] In week one of the 2023 season, Cooper intercepted two passes, including taking one to the house for a touchdown, as he helped the Cylcones beat Northern Iowa. [6] For his performance, Cooper was named the Big-12 defensive player of the week. [7] [8] In the following week, Cooper would record an interception against rival Iowa. [9] In week seven, Cooper would tack on interception versus Cincinnati to increase his NCAA interception lead to five on year. [10]
Cooper is the brother of former Arizona safety Tristan Cooper, and the brother of current Oral Roberts women's basketball player Hannah Cooper. [11]
Edward Earl Reed Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL), spending the majority of his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, where he played on Miami's 2001 national championship team and was named a unanimous All-American. He was selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft and played 11 seasons with them before playing with the Houston Texans and New York Jets in 2013.
Brian Patrick Dawkins Sr., nicknamed "Weapon X", is an American former professional football player who was a safety for 16 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles. Ellis Hue Hobbs III is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Iowa State Cyclones. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft and played for them from 2005 to 2008. He was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in April 2009 and played for them from 2009 to 2010, before a neck injury prematurely ended his career.

Eric Steven Weddle is an American former football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. He played college football for the Utah Utes, where he was a consensus All-American, and was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. During his nine seasons with the Chargers, Weddle received three Pro Bowl and two first-team All-Pro selections. Weddle spent his next three seasons as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, earning Pro Bowl honors in each and extending his total selections to six. He retired after playing for the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, but returned two years later to join the Rams on their playoff run, which culminated with a start and a victory in Super Bowl LVI. Following the championship, he retired a second time.
