Hampton is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 137,148. It is the 7th-most populous city in Virginia and 204th-most populous city in the nation. Hampton is included in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, the 37th-largest in the United States, with a total population of 1,799,674 in 2020. This area, known as "America's First Region", also includes the independent cities of Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk, as well as other smaller cities, counties, and towns of Hampton Roads.

The 1978 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas in the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1978 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their second year under head coach Lou Holtz, the Razorbacks compiled a 9–2–1 record, finished in a tie for second place in the SWC, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 336 to 147. The Razorbacks' only losses were to SWC champion Houston by a 20–9 score and to Texas by a 28–21 score. The team advanced to 1978 Fiesta Bowl, playing to a 10–10 tie with UCLA. Arkansas was ranked #11 in the final AP Poll and #10 in the final UPI Coaches Poll.
Onrea Jones is a former American football wide receiver. He was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Hampton.
William Richard "Red" Mack was an American football wide receiver and halfback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Green Bay Packers. As a Green Bay Packer he played in Super Bowl I, January 15, 1967, and made two tackles. He attended Hampton High School in Allison Park, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh, where he was a star at football. He would go on to play college football at the University of Notre Dame.
