Jeremy Nail is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was born in Albany, Texas and is based in Austin. [1]

Nail played guitar and wrote songs in several bands including Dustin Welch, The Sideshow Tragedy and Liars and Saints (with Johnny Goudie and Kacy Crowley). His debut album Letter (2007) was described by the Austin Chronicle as “a diverse, gripping listen, one that's centered around his ability to capture waking moments with intensity. Nail's visions take shape with a self-confidence by a local singer-songwriter that hasn't been displayed on a first effort since Jeff Klein.” [2]

Nail played guitar for Alejandro Escovedo in 2013. After playing one show together, at the Norman Music Festival in Norman, OK, Escovedo asked Nail to join him on his upcoming world tour. Shortly thereafter, Nail was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer that had wrapped around his left leg over the course of four months. After radiation therapy and other treatment, culminating in the amputation of Nail's leg, Nail survived. [3]

In 2015, Escovedo helped Nail to develop new songs, and produced his new record, My Mountain (2016), accompanied by Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore aka The Mastersons, Bobby Daniel, Chris Searles, Dana Falconberry and Jazz Mills. Elmore Magazine premiered Nail's first official video for the title track, and wrote that "Nail’s sound is superbly profound, dancing along the lines of Ryan Bingham and a Stetson-clad Beck.". [4] My Mountain received international raves [5] and the Austin-American Statesman named Nail the Artist of the Month for May 2016. [6] Music writer Peter Blackstock invited Jeremy Nail and his band to perform one of the tunes, "Survive", from his new record, My Mountain, which was videotaped in the studio at the Austin American-Statesman, as part of the Austin 360’s artist of the month series. [7] Blackstock described "Survive" as "perhaps the most moving song on “My Mountain.” Its magic is in its subtlety." [8] My Mountain was nominated by the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards in the Alt-Country album category.

Jeremy Nail went on to co-produce his next release 'Live Oak' with drummer Pat Manske in 2018. Kevin Curtin at the Austin Chronicle premiered the first official video "Abiquiu", which is the first track on Live Oak. Curtin wrote, "Pastoral and poetic, the new album – arriving August 17 – finds the native Texan from Albany ever reflective and resilient, breathing in life’s landscapes, literal and figurative, and exhaling a peaceful sense of place." [9] Austin 360 exclusively premiered a first listen of 'Live Oak'. "One constant that extends from “My Mountain” to his new “Live Oak,” is the prominence of the natural world in the songs Nail writes. The mountains and oceans that loomed large on the last record give way to desert flowers and sturdy trees, which provide a graceful path in to the new record." Peter Blackstock [10]

Soulhat

Soulhat is an American rock band from Texas. The group formed in 1990 around the nucleus of Kevin McKinney, Bill Cassis, and Brian Walsh; Barry E. "Frosty" Smith, who had previously played drums with Lee Michaels and Funkadelic, joined soon after: at first playing percussion alongside, and eventually replacing original drummer Ian Bailey. Their self-released debut followed in 1993, and was reissued after they signed to Epic Records later that year. Their single "Bonecrusher" peaked at #25 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. A follow-up studio album appeared in 1994, and a third in 2000.

Cherubs are an American noise rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1991. Their line up consisted of guitarist Kevin Whitley, bassist Owen McMahon, and drummer Brent Prager. During their initial run, they released two albums and an outtake compilation, all of which were released through Trance Syndicate. They broke up in 1994, shortly before the release of their second album Heroin Man. They reunited in 2014 and a third full-length, titled 2 YNFYNYTY, was released on March 3, 2015, through Brutal Panda Records. Ralph White Musical artist

Ralph E. White III is a musician from Austin, Texas who has drawn inspiration from traditional blues, old-time country, rock, African and Cajun music, among other traditions. He principally plays banjo, fiddle, accordion, guitar, kalimba and mbira. He was a founding member of the innovative and influential Austin trio the Bad Livers, formed in 1990 with banjoist and singer/songwriter Danny Barnes and bass and tuba player Mark Rubin. During the early 1990s, "White's sizzling dexterity on fiddle and accordion" was a "cornerstone of their buzz."

Lindsey Verrill American musician (born 1982)

Lindsey Verrill is an American avant-garde multi-instrumentalist from Dallas, Texas who lives in Austin, Texas. Largely self-taught on cello and upright bass before studying music at the University of North Texas in Denton, Verrill became a key component across a number of indie bands in Austin as well as a founding member of the Austin-based Annie Street Arts Collective. In 2015 she began performing her own material seriously as part of the experimental folk duo Little Mazarn featuring unusual instrumentation of banjo and musical saw. She has performed with Ethan Azarian, Califone, Dana Falconberry, Patty Griffin, Thor Harris, Will Johnson, Longriver, Possessed by Paul James, some say Leland, Charlie Sexton, the Weird Weeds, and Ralph White. In 2017, she traveled to Germany, France, Japan, and Canada as a part of the ATX6.

Wood & Wire is a bluegrass band formed in Austin, Texas in 2011. The lineup currently is made of Tony Kamel, Dominic Fisher, Trevor Smith, and Billy Bright. They are active in the Austin music scene and have played at venues like Stubb's Indoors, The Historic Scoot Inn, and Cactus Cafe. The group was nominated for their first Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass album at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Dayglow released its debut album, Fuzzybrain, on September 28, 2018.
