Jerry Barilla is the mayor of Wintersville,Ohio. He was elected mayor on November 7,2017.
Barilla attended Steubenville High School and then Kent State University,where he got a degree in education and became a high school teacher. [1] After teaching for four years,Barilla joined his father's appliance business,which became known as Frank &Jerry's Furniture and Appliance Store,in downtown Steubenville in 1969, [1] and later became the owner. [2] Barilla later became the president of Historic Fort Steuben,a non-profit which operates a re-creation of Fort Steuben. [2] Barilla had the idea for the Steubenville Nutcracker Village and helped to start the project. [3] In 2017,Barilla retired and closed his store and filed to run for mayor as a Republican. Barilla won the November 2017 mayoral election with 63% of the vote,defeating Democrat Frankie DiCarlantonio (27%) and independent Royal Mayo (10%). [6] Barilla became the first new mayor in Steubenville in nearly 26 years,succeeding Domenick Mucci Jr. [7]

Steuben Glass is an American art glass manufacturer,founded in the summer of 1903 by Frederick Carder and Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning,New York,which is in Steuben County,from which the company name was derived. Hawkes was the owner of the largest cut glass firm then operating in Corning. Carder was an Englishman who had many years' experience designing glass for Stevens &Williams in England. Hawkes purchased the glass blanks for his cutting shop from many sources and eventually wanted to start a factory to make the blanks himself. Hawkes convinced Carder to come to Corning and manage such a factory. Carder,who had been passed over for promotion at Stevens and Williams,consented to do so.

Louis "Lou" Gentile is an American politician formerly serving as the senator for the 30th District of the Ohio Senate. He was also previously a member of the Ohio House of Representatives,serving briefly in 2011 prior to his appointment to the Senate. His district is one of the largest in Ohio,stretching from Carrollton,Ohio to Athens,Ohio and encompassing much of the Ohio Valley. Gentile served as Assistant Minority Whip in the Ohio Senate. He is a Democrat. Gentile lost his 2016 Senate re-election bid to Frank Hoagland.
Frank Gilliam was an All-American football player and coach for the University of Iowa. He later played several seasons in the Canadian Football League. Gilliam is a member of the University of Iowa’s all-time football team.
The Market Street Bridge is a suspension bridge connecting Market Street in Steubenville,Ohio and West Virginia Route 2 in Follansbee,West Virginia over the Ohio River. As a project of the Steubenville Bridge Company,it was constructed in 1905 by the Ohio Steel Erection Company,the framework was created by the Penn Bridge Company,and the original steel was done by Jones and Laughlin Steel Company and Bethlehem Steel. The bridge spans a length of 1,794 feet (547 m) with a width of 20.7 feet (6.3 m). As of 2002,the average daily traffic was estimated around 15,000 vehicles. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.
