Jerry Behn (born January 31,1954) is an American politician who served as a member of the Iowa Senate for the 24th district from 1997 to 2021.
Behn served as a Boone County supervisor from 1995 to 1996. [1]
Behn served on the Senate Appropriations committee;the Senate Commerce committee;the Senate State Government committee;the Senate Environment &Energy Independence committee,and the Senate Ethics committee. He also served on the Senate Administration and Regulation Appropriations Subcommittee.
Behn was last re-elected in 2008 with 22,970 votes (57%),defeating Democratic opponent,former Iowa Senator Albert Sorensen. [2]
Behn was a candidate for the 2010 Iowa gubernatorial election but withdrew,endorsing Terry Branstad. [3] [4] [5]
Behn is a supporter of capital punishment,he has introduced a limited death penalty bill in each General Assembly since 1997. [6] his latest attempt was in 2019. [7]

William Boyd Allison was an American politician. An early leader of the Iowa Republican Party,he represented northeastern Iowa in the United States House of Representatives before representing his state in the United States Senate. By the 1890s,Allison had become one of the "big four" key Republicans who largely controlled the Senate,along with Orville H. Platt of Connecticut,John Coit Spooner of Wisconsin and Nelson W. Aldrich of Rhode Island.
Albert Baird Cummins was an American lawyer and politician. He was the 18th governor of Iowa,elected to three consecutive terms and U.S. Senator for Iowa,serving for 18 years. Cummins was a leader of the Progressive movement in Washington and Iowa. He fought to break up monopolies. Cummins' successes included establishing the direct primary to allow voters to select candidates instead of bosses;outlawing free railroad passes for politicians;imposing a two-cent street railway maximum fare;and abolishing corporate campaign contributions. He tried,with less success,to lower the high protective tariff in Washington.

McKibben was re-elected in 2004 with 14,185 votes (51%),defeating Democratic opponent Wayne Sawtelle. He did not rerun in the 2008 Iowa Senate elections. From 2013 to 2019,McKibben served as a member of the Iowa Board of Regents. In 2017,he considered running for the board presidency,as Bruce Rastetter decided to step down. Michael Richards was elected to succeed Rastetter as board president.

Dandekar previously served on the Iowa Association of School Boards,and as a board member of the Women in Public Policy,and the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy. On July 23,2013 Dandekar announced that she would be running for the U.S. Congress from the 1st congressional district;she lost in the primary to former state house speaker Pat Murphy,who himself lost to Rod Blum.
Robert Mason Hogg is the Iowa State Senator from the 33rd District. A Democrat,he has served in the Iowa Senate since 2007 after having served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. He ran in the Democratic primary for the 2016 United States Senate election in Iowa,but he lost to former Iowa Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge. In June 2021,Hogg announced his intention to not seek re-election to his seat in 2022.
