Jess Fink is an American comic book creator.

Early life and education

In high school, Jess Fink began reading comics and then manga. [1] She cites Molly Kiely and Art Spiegelman as influences. [2]

In 2003, Fink received her degree in Illustrating & Cartooning from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. [3] During her studies, she was taught by Tom Hart, who assisted her with editing We Can Fix It. [2]

Career

She created the webcomic turned graphic novel Chester 5000 XYV and graphic novel We Can Fix It, both published by Top Shelf Comics. [2] Her work has appeared in North American Review among other publications. [4] [5] [6] Fink's erotic comic book work has been featured at the Museum of Sex in New York City [7] [8] and on the Oh Joy Sex Toy web comic and book. [9] [10] Her is autobiographical in nature and features erotic scenes. [11] For example, she described her work, We Can Fix It as "an autobiographical memoir... with a time machine" [1] and has described her work Chester 5000 XYV as "an erotic, robotic, Victorian romance." [12]

Chester 5000 XYV is part of the Library of Congress's Webcomics Web Archive. [13] [14]

Personal life

She currently lives in Troy, New York and sells jewelry through an online store named Hey Chickadee! [12] She has used Kickstarter to fund projects and has a Patreon. [3]

<i>Witchy</i> Fantasy webcomic

Witchy is a fantasy webcomic by Ariel Slamet Ries that started in 2014. The webcomic follows the young witch Nyneve in a world where magical proficiency is based on the length of one's hair. Though the world of Witchy is culturally and ethnically diverse, its characters are marginalized based on their hair length. Ries uploads one page of the webcomic per week as she is studying animation. Witchy was nominated for an Ignatz award in 2015.

Julia Evelyn Kaye is an American artist, illustrator, and voice actress. Kaye currently works as a storyboard artist and revisionist at Disney Television Animation, and is the creator of the webcomic Up and Out. She has also done work for Maxim, Cosmopolitan, BuzzFeed, GoComics, College Humor, along with other graphic design work. She provided the voice of Snapdragon in the animated series High Guardian Spice.
