Jet Ng (born 10 May 1998) is a Singaporean foil fencer.
Ng attained a 5th-place finish at the 2015 Cadet World Championships (men's foil), the then-highest achieved by a Singaporean fencer, [1] before Ywen Lau won the 2016 Cadet World Championships in Women's Sabre. He won multiple Cadet (U17) and Junior (U20) medals in Asian and Southeast Asian competitions.
Ng made his SEA Games debut in 2017, winning an individual bronze medal in the men's foil individual event. In 2019, Ng won the gold medal at the men's foil team event at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held in the Philippines. [2]
Ng was born on 10 May 1998 in Singapore. He attended Tao Nan School, Victoria School and Meridian Junior College.[ citation needed ] Ng attended Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan from 2019-2023, graduating with a Bachelors in Arts. He currently attends Waseda University's Graduate School of Sport Sciences.
Ng is a fan of the Star Wars franchise and started fencing to emulate the characters in the movies.[ citation needed ]
Ng picked up fencing at age 8 when emulating the characters of the Star Wars franchise, which he is a fan.[ citation needed ]
He is the nephew of veteran actress, Huang Bi Ren. [3]
In addition to winning multiple National Championships and medals, Ng also had success on the international stage.
A foil is one of the three weapons used in the sport of fencing. It is a flexible sword of total length 110 cm (43 in) or under, rectangular in cross section, weighing under 500 g (18 oz), with a blunt tip. As with the épée, points are only scored by making contact with the tip. The foil is the most commonly used weapon in fencing.

Blade Club (Fencing) Singapore is a commercial fencing club founded 2005 by Henry Koh, an ex-National fencer of Singapore. The club teaches fencing students at all levels, from beginner to advanced fencing in group or individual lesson formats. According to the Club website, the mission of the Blade Club is to help develop fencing in Singapore, focusing on helping students to learn fencing well and to achieve success in competitive fencing. Fencing competitions at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore consisted of three Cadet Male individual events, three Cadet Female individual events and one team event including both genders and all 3 weapons: épée, foil and saber. 78 fencers from 36 nations were competing. The venue was located at the International Convention Centre (ICC).
Nicole Ross is an American foil fencer. Fencing for the Columbia Lions fencing team, she won the 2010 NCAA individual women's foil title, and was a three time All-American. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in individual women's foil, coming in 25th, while in the team event she and her teammates came in sixth. At the 2018 World Championships, she and her Team USA teammates won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.
