Jewel N. Arengh is a Bangladeshi Garo Awami League politician and a former member of parliament from Mymensingh-1. He is the youngest member of parliament and the only Catholic. [2] [3] His father, Promode Mankin, was the state minister for social welfare in the Bangladesh Awami League government. [4]
On 18 July 2016 Arengh was elected to parliament from Mymensingh-1 in a special election. The special election was held after the seat became vacant because of the death of Promode Mankin, the member of parliament and father of Jewel Arengh. Areng beat his opponent, Selina Khatun, by 155,866 votes. [5] [6]

Mohammad Abdul Hamid is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the president of Bangladesh from 2013 to 2023. He was elected to his first term in April 2013, and re-elected in 2018. Previously, he served as the speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad from January 2009 to April 2013. He was the acting president after the death of Zillur Rahman in March 2013. He was the longest serving president in the history of Bangladesh.
