Jewish Awareness AMerica (JAAM) is an American non-profit organization dedicated to educating Jewish students and graduates about Jewish heritage and values. It was founded in the late 1990s by Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz of Machon L'Torah with the aim of producing knowledgeable future Jewish leaders who will make personal, family, and communal decisions in light of Jewish teaching and tradition. JAAM provides a range of educational programs and cultural activities designed to reconnect Jewish college students with their heritage.
Through the development of innovative, intriguing, and informative Jewish awareness programs on campuses throughout North America, JAAM attempts to bridge the gap created by the cessation of genuine Jewish education and awaken within students their sense of Jewish identity and pride.
To make a significant impact on the future of the American Jewry, JAAM targets students who have the potential of becoming leaders of the next generation. These informed and passionate Jewish students act in leadership capacities on campus and in their communities after graduation.
In 1999, JAAM established the Maimonides Leaders Fellowship Program [1] on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Owing to its popularity, the Maimonides program has been duplicated on over 25 college campuses across North America, [2] such as the University of Maryland, Yale University, and UC-Berkeley.

St. Mary's College of Maryland is a public liberal arts college in St. Mary's City, Maryland. Established in 1840, St. Mary's College is an honors college that claims to "offer an experience similar to that of an elite liberal arts college". With about 1,600 enrolled students, the institution offers bachelor's degrees in 21 disciplines, as well as a master's program and certification programs.
Ner Israel Rabbinical College, also known as NIRC and Ner Yisroel, is a Haredi yeshiva in Pikesville, Maryland. It was founded in 1933 by Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman, a disciple of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, dean of the Slabodka yeshiva in Lithuania. It is currently headed by Rabbi Aharon Feldman, a disciple of Rabbi Ruderman and a member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of America.
Central Michigan University (CMU) is a public research university in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Established in 1892 as the Central Michigan Normal School and Business Institute, the private normal school became a state institution and renamed Central State Normal School in 1895 after the Michigan State Board of Education took over governance of the school. The institution came into its own as a university and gained its current name Central Michigan University in 1959 under the university's 6th president Judson W. Foust.
Johnson & Wales University (JWU) is a private university with its main campus in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded as a business school in 1914 by Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Maimonides School is a coeducational, Modern Orthodox, Jewish day school located in Brookline, Massachusetts. The school was founded in 1937 by Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchik and his wife Tonya Soloveitchik. It is named after Rabbi Moses Maimonides.
Bay Mills Community College (BMCC) is a public tribal land-grant community college in Brimley, Michigan. It is chartered by the federally recognized Bay Mills Indian Community of Michigan with a total enrollment of approximately 500 on-campus and online students. The students come primarily from Michigan's eastern Upper Peninsula and are 60% Native American. Citizen Schools is an American nonprofit organization that partners with middle schools across the United States to expand the learning day for children in low-income communities. Its stated mission is "educating children and strengthening communities". Currently, Citizen Schools serves over 5,000 students and recruits over 4,280 volunteers over 31 program sites in 13 cities across 7 states. The center pieces of the Citizen Schools model are its apprenticeship programs run by volunteers that culminate in public demonstrations called WOW!s, and partnering with some middle schools to expand learning time for students. Citizen Schools offers the AmeriCorps National Teaching Fellowship providing a 2-year paid service opportunity for citizens interested in using their personal talents to enhance life opportunities for middle school students. Fellows in their second year can participate in a residency program operated by one of three university partners to obtain teacher certification in California, Massachusetts and New York. In honor of its 20 anniversary in 2015, Citizen Schools honored 20 alumni of the Fellowship who continue to make a profound impact in the community today.
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz (1952) is an Israeli-born Charedi rabbi, who founded Machon L'Torah and Jewish Awareness America (JAAM), to educate Jewish college students about Jewish heritage and values.

It was established in August 1956 and enrolls about 1182 students in grades 9-12. The Yeshiva offers both summer and year-long fellowships for students to learn full-time in the yeshiva setting. Prominent rabbis associated with the Yeshiva include co-founders Rabbi Shai Held, Rabbi Elie Kaunfer, and Rabbi Ethan Tucker.
Masorti on Campus (MoC) is a student organization for Conservative Judaism on North American college and university campuses, working with Hillel and other Jewish campus life organizations. MoC connects students and Jewish professionals from different campuses to share ideas for building and strengthening progressive Jewish communities.
