Jezza Uepa (born 1980) is a Nauruan powerlifter. [1] Uepa has won gold medal at the 2019 World Classic Powerlifting Championships in 120+ category. In his collection from world championships he has got also two silver and one bronze medal. He also won a bronze medal at the 2011 Pacific Games in 120+ kg category. [2] [3] Following the 2019 World Powerlifting Championship in Sweden, Uepa was crowned as the World's Strongest Man. [4] [5] In 2023, Uepa has squated 470 kg at Brisbane Open. [6] [7] The same year, he lifted 420 kg at the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships which were held at Calgary, Canada. [8] During the Oceania Classic Powerlifting & Bench Press Championship which was held at Christchurch, New Zealand, Uepa lifted has 455 kg raw. [9]

Personal life

His daughter, Maximina Uepa is successful weightlifter. Her biggest success is bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in 76 kg category.

Maximina Uepa is a weightlifter from Nauru. She won the bronze medal in the women's 76 kg event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, England. She is the current Nauruan women's record-holder in the 71 kg category for overall, snatch and clean and jerk.
