Personal life

Chiminazzo was born to parents Ernani and Ivone. She grew up in Muçum, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She has two sisters, Grace (6 years older) and Jéssica (5 years younger). She was discovered in 1998 at the age of 13 by a Brazilian actor who recommended her to a modeling agency.[ citation needed ]

Career

A year after first appearing on the covers of local magazines, Chiminazzo signed with IMG Models in New York and appeared in Italian editions of Elle and Marie Claire soon after. During her first few years as an international model, she appeared in several fashion campaigns, for designers such as Emanuel Ungaro and Jill Stuart, for which she was photographed by Ellen von Unwerth. In July 2005, Chiminazzo made a breakthrough with a Paris Vogue cover with Isabeli Fontana, photographed by Mario Testino.
