Jigna Vora (born 1974) is a former Indian journalist. She was falsely accused of having a connection in the murder of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey and was booked under MCOCA. [1] Her biographical memoir Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison inspired the 2023 Netflix series Scoop. [2] She practices tarot reading and astrology now. [3]

She participated a contestant on the Indian reality TV show, Bigg Boss Season 17, which started in October 2023. She was evicted from the show on Day 41.

Jyotirmoy Dey murder

After the murder of Jyotirmoy Dey on 11 June 2011, Vora was booked under MCOCA and tried among 10 other accused including Chhota Rajan. [4] At the time, Vora was working as the deputy chief of bureau of the Mumbai bureau of Indian English newspaper The Asian Age . [5] She was also Anchor of Zee News in 2017.

Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison

Vora biographical memoir about her journalism career and seven years of trial titled Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison was published by Penguin India in September 2019. [6]

In 2019, Matchbox Pictures acquired the rights of Vora's Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison [7] [8] and released the series Scoop on Netflix in 2023. [2]

Phir Hera Pheri is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language comedy film written and directed by Neeraj Vora. It serves as the sequel to Hera Pheri (2000) and the second installment of the Hera Pheri franchise. It stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles from the previous film with Bipasha Basu, Rimi Sen, Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav. Pradeep Sharma is a former officer in the police force of Mumbai, India. On 31 August 2008 he was suspended from the Mumbai police on charges of corruption but was reinstated on 16 August 2017 after he was proven innocent of those charges. Sharma resigned from Mumbai police in July 2019 after a 35 year long career. He officially joined the ruling Shiv Sena in Maharashtra on September 13, 2019 and contested from Nalasopara seat in the Maharashtra assembly polls but lost to Bahujan Vikash Aghadi's candidate Kshitij Hitendra Thakur by a margin of 43,729 votes.
