He is a two-time Olympic champion, three-time World Champion, and the first Turkish wrestler to become European champion a record eight times, a feat that has since been matched by Rıza Kayaalp. Karl Mikael Samuelsson is a Swedish former professional ice hockey right winger. Samuelsson began his career in Sweden, starting with small town team IFK Mariefred, followed by Södertälje SK as a junior in 1994. He went on to also play for Swedish teams IK Nyköping, Frölunda HC and Brynäs IF. After being selected 145th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks, he moved to North America for the 2000–01 NHL season. Samuelsson spent short stints with the Sharks, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers, before returning to Europe during the 2004–05 NHL lockout. As NHL play resumed, Samuelsson signed with the Detroit Red Wings, where he enjoyed individual and team success, winning the Stanley Cup with the club in 2008. After four seasons in Detroit, he signed with the Vancouver Canucks in July 2009. He enjoyed the two most successful individual seasons of his career with Vancouver, recording back-to-back 50-point campaigns in 2009–10 and 2010–11. In his third year with the club, he was traded to the Panthers for his second stint in Florida. At the end of the season, he re-signed with the Red Wings in July 2012.
Carl Johan Bergman is a former Swedish biathlete. He lives in Lillehammer, Norway with his Norwegian wife, Liv Kjersti Eikeland. He is 5 ft 8½ in (174 cm), and weighs 152 lb (69 kg; 10 st 12 lb).
Martin Johan Lidberg is a Swedish former professional wrestler. He is a world champion, two-time European champion as well as 19-time Swedish champion. He has competed in the olympics three times. In 2007 he won Let's Dance 2007 in Sweden together with his dancing partner Cecilia Ehrling, defeating Tobbe Blom, host of Idol 2005. Lidberg and Ehrling represented Sweden in the Eurovision Dance Contest 2007, where they placed 14th.

Egypt competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012, sending one of its largest delegations ever. A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. The nation's flagbearer in the opening ceremonies was Hesham Mesbah, a judoka who was Egypt's only medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Egypt won two medals during the course of the Games: Alaaeldin Abouelkassem earned silver in the men's foil, becoming the first competitor from an African nation to win a fencing medal, while Karam Gaber captured silver in the men's 84 kg Greco-Roman wrestling event. Two Egyptian weightlifters were awarded medals retroactively, after higher-ranked competitors were disqualified for doping: Abeer Abdelrahman took silver in the women's 75 kg event, while Tarek Yehia, received bronze in the men's 85 kg event. Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.
Per Gunnar Börje Berlin was a Swedish wrestler who competed in the 73 kg freestyle and Greco-Roman categories. He won a freestyle silver medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics and a Greco-Roman bronze in 1956. He received another bronze medal at the 1949 European Championships, and three times finished fourth in freestyle wrestling: at the 1951 and 1954 world championships and at the 1956 Olympics.
Mihály Deák-Bárdos is a Hungarian amateur Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's super heavyweight category. He is a four-time Olympian, and a six-time medalist at the European Championships. Deák-Bárdos had also won a total of five silver medals at the World Championships, losing out to numerous top-level wrestlers including Alexander Karelin, Rulon Gardner, Khasan Baroyev, and Mijaín López, all of whom were Olympic champions in the same division.
Nikolay Borislavov Gergov is an amateur Bulgarian Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's welterweight category. He defeated South Korea's Kim Min-Chul for a gold medal in the 66 kg division at the 2005 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in addition to his bronze from the 2007 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. He is also a two-time Olympian, a double European wrestling champion, and a member of Slavia Litex Wrestling Club in Sofia, under his personal coach Bratan Tzenov. Because of his further successes in wrestling, Gergov was selected as one of eleven athletes for the Bulgarian Sports Personality Award in 2007.
Nikolay Ivanovich Paslar is an amateur Bulgarian freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's middleweight category. Considered as one of Bulgaria's top freestyle wrestlers in his decade, Paslar has claimed two career medals in the 69 and 74-kg division at the World Championships, and later represented his nation Bulgaria at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Throughout his sporting career, Paslar trained full time as a member of the wrestling squad for Slavia Sports Club in Sofia under his personal coach Ilian Stefanov.
Parviz Zeidvand is a retired amateur Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. He won two gold medals at the Asian Championships, picked up a bronze in the 74-kg division at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, and represented Iran in two editions of the Olympic Games. Throughout his sporting career, Zeidvand trained full-time for Rahahan Wrestling Club under his coach and mentor Gholamreza Ghetassi.
Moisés Sánchez Parra is a retired amateur Spanish Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. He represented his nation Spain at the 2004 Summer Olympics and later capped his sporting career in 2005 with a silver and bronze at the Mediterranean Games and European Championships. Before his retirement from wrestling in 2010, Sanchez trained full-time for Budokan Wrestling Club in Palma de Mallorca under his coach Eusebio Capel.
Maksim Anatolyevich Semenov is a retired amateur Russian Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. He obtained a fourth position in the 66-kg division at the 2002 World Wrestling Championships in Moscow, and also represented his nation Russia at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing ninth in the process. Throughout his sporting career, Semenov trained full-time for Torpedo Wrestling Club in Moscow, under his personal coach and mentor Rerik Sadikhanov.
Stavroula Zygouri Greek: Σταυρούλα Ζυγούρη; born May 4, 1968, in Athens) is a retired amateur Greek freestyle wrestler, who competed in the women's middleweight category. She picked up a silver medal in the 63-kg division at the 2001 Mediterranean Games in Tunis, Tunisia, and later finished fourth in Athens, when Greece hosted the 2004 Summer Olympics. Before her sporting career ended in 2012, Zygouri trained as a member of the wrestling team for Atlas Kallitheas in her native Athens, under her personal coach and mentor Panagiotis Kalaigidis.
Apostolos Taskoudis is an amateur Greek freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's welterweight category. Taskoudis finished sixth in the 66-kg class when Greece hosted the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and has also captured three gold medals in the 74-kg division in beach wrestling at the World Championships. In 2015 he won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Beach Games in Pescara. Throughout his sporting career, Taskoudis has been training for San Georgios Wrestling Club in his native Serres, under his personal coach Avtandil Bzalava.
Petr Švehla is a retired amateur Czech Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's featherweight category. He picked up two career medals at the European Championships, scored a bronze in the 60-kg division at the 2005 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and also represented as part of the Czech Republic team in two editions of the Olympic Games. Before his sporting career ended in 2009, Svehla trained as a member of the wrestling squad for PSK Olymp Praha in Prague, under his longtime coach Ervin Varga.
Usama Aziz, also known as Sami Aziz, is a Swedish retired wrestler and mixed martial artist. He competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics and the 1996 Summer Olympics. He finished 5th in the 1992 European Championships and another 5th place in the 1995 World Championships, both in the style of Greco-Roman. His mixed martial arts career started in 2005. He competed in organisations such as Bellator MMA and Bodog Fight. He retired in 2013, following a victory over former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver.
