Jin Shangyi (born in 1934) is a contemporary Chinese oil painter within the neoclassical realism movement in Chinese oil painting. [1] From 1987 to 2001, Jin Shangyi served as president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and professor of the Oil Painting Department. [2]

Art works

Jin Shangyi's paintings have been permanently collected by the National Art Museum of China among others. [3] [4]

In 2013, Jin Shangyi's painting Tajik Bride was sold for 85.1 million yuan ($13.97 million) at the 2013 Autumn Auctions at China Guardian Beijing. [5] [6]

The Scream is a composition created by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893. The Norwegian name of the piece is Skrik (Scream), and the German title under which it was first exhibited is Der Schrei der Natur. The agonized face in the painting has become one of the most iconic images in art, seen as symbolizing the anxiety of the human condition. Munch's work, including The Scream, had a formative influence on the Expressionist movement.

It is one of the most selective universities in the country and turns away more than 95% of applicants every year. The acceptance rate was only 1.58% in 2019. His works focus on the bottom and marginalized people in life, reflecting the times and people's livelihood issues in Chinese society since the reform and opening up.

Chinese Nude Oils Exhibition (油画人体艺术大展) is the first public exhibition of nude art in Beijing and it is considered one of the most significant exhibitions in the history of Chinese contemporary art. Opening on December 12, 1988, at the National Art Museum of China, this exhibition included over 136 paintings of nude art from 28 artists in Central Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition lasted for 18 days, with more than 220,000 visitors attended.
