Meri-Tuuli Elorinne [1] (born September 10, 1985 in Helsinki), better known by her stage name Jippu, is a Finnish pop singer.

Her father Jorma Elorinne was an operatic tenor. She started singing very early and at age 11 was part of The Kids. She released her single "Kii" in 2005 that was used as a theme song for FC Venus , a Finnish romantic comedy film directed by Joona Tena. Based on this, she released her debut album Salaisuuksia, joita yksinäiset huutaa unissaan in September 2006. She won "Best debut album" for her release during Emma-gaala Finnish music awards in 2007. Her follow-up album Kuka teki minusta tän naisen went gold, reaching the top of the Finnish Albums Chart.

In 2008, she took part in the selection process to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Kanna minut", but was unsuccessful in her bid as the choice went for Teräsbetoni and their song "Missä miehet ratsastaa"

In late 2009 her collaboration with Samuli Edelmann resulted in a very successful joint album entitled Pimeä onni that reached #2 in the Finnish Albums Chart. Her duo single "Jos sä tahdot niin" with Edelmann topped the Finnish singles chart followed by another single with Edelmann, the title track "Pimeä onni" hit the top 20. She returned in 2012 with her solo album released in April 2012 entitled Väärinpäin lentävät linnut.

The Rasmus Pop band from Helsinki, Finland

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1998 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band and was replaced by Emppu Suhonen in 2022. The Rasmus has sold 5 million albums worldwide, and about 350,000 albums in Finland alone. They have won numerous awards, both domestic and international. They are best known for their 2003 hit single "In the Shadows".

Hector (musician) Finnish singer-songwriter (born 1947)

Heikki Veikko Harma is a Finnish singer-songwriter who has also distinguished himself as a translator of song lyrics, but has written popular lyrics of his own too. To the public he's better known by the name Hector, which he has used since the release of his 1965 debut single "Palkkasoturi", a Finnish translation of Buffy Sainte-Marie's "Universal Soldier". His 1974 album Hectorock I became the fastest selling record in Finnish history, selling 50,000 units within a few months. Hector was at the height of his popularity in the first half of the 1970s, but his steady string of recordings provided occasional hits well into the 1990s. In the 2000s, he made strong comeback to popularity with his album Ei selityksiä. That album became one of his most successful albums. In 2007 he made a farewell tour on big arenas, but has performed occasionally after that too. In 2011 he made a massive comeback tour and released a new album Hauras (Fragile) in 2014, ten years after his previous album.

Hide from the Sun is the sixth studio album by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus. It was originally released in mainland Europe, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Japan on 12 September 2005. It was later released in the United States on 10 October 2006, and featured a selection of B-side remixes and special edition bonus tracks. The US edition also included the previously unseen video for "Immortal". The name "Hide from the Sun" is a quotation from the song "Dead Promises". The album cover was painted by guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi.

Sielun Veljet

Sielun Veljet was a Finnish rock band of the 1980s. They were formed soon after the disbanding of Hassisen Kone by its former frontman Ismo Alanko. Sielun Veljet never achieved the fame or the record sales figures of Hassisen Kone, but they became famous for their powerful stage presence and aggressive, shamanistic post-punk musical style. Most of the band's recorded material is sung in Finnish, except for their 1989 album Softwood Music Under Slow Pillars. Elonkerjuu is a Finnish folk rock band. The band had started in the mid-1990s with lead singer Lauri Tähkä and was known from 1996 until 2011 as Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu. They were signed since 2006 with Universal Music Finland. In 2011 Tähkä left the band, which shortened their name to the current form. In 20212 Juha Lagström was chosen as the new lead singer.
