Joachim Griese (born 25 August 1952) is a German competitive sailor and Olympic medalist. He won a silver medal in the Star class at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, together with Michael Marcour. [1]

Haiti competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany. It was the first time in 12 years that the nation had sent athletes to the Olympic Games. Haiti's delegation consisted of seven competitors, all track and field athletes, and eight officials. One of the athletes, Elsie Baptiste, ended up not competing in any events. The only other woman on the team, Mireille Joseph, ran in the 100 metre race, becoming the first Haitian woman to compete in the Olympics. Among the delegation's officials were Lamartine Clermont, Franck Godefroy, Jacques Joachim, Philomene Joachim, Jules Merine, and Jean-M. Verly.

The 1980 Miami Dolphins season was the 15th year of existence for the Miami Dolphins franchise. Quarterback Bob Griese retired after the season, following a 14-year career with the Dolphins. However, in Griese's final season the Dolphins would only play mediocre football finishing in third place with an 8-8 record. This was also the first season since 1969 that the Dolphins lost to the Buffalo Bills. For the season, the Dolphins switched the color of the facemasks on their helmets from gray to teal.

The 1977 Miami Dolphins season was the team's 12th as a member of the National Football League (NFL). The Dolphins improved upon their previous season's output of 6–8, winning ten games. After suffering their first losing season under Coach Don Shula, the Dolphins bounced back to finish 10-4. Bob Griese had a stellar year, despite being forced to wear thick eyeglasses due to a problem with his contacts. Griese, whose season was highlighted by a six touchdown game in St. Louis against the Cardinals, was named Player of the year by the Maxwell Club of Philadelphia. Despite the improvement, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the third straight season.

The region of Griese Gegend lies in southwestern Mecklenburg in Germany. In the northwest and north the region is bordered by the River Sude, the stream of the Strohkirchener Bach and its continuation as the New Canal. The region's southeastern border runs roughly from the town of Ludwigslust to Dömitz, in the southwest the River Rögnitz forms the boundary of the Griese Gegend from Woosmer to Lübtheen. The region forms a large triangle.
