Job Tate (born December 12,1979),is a former Republican two-term Representative in the Vermont House of Representatives from 2015 to 2017. In his second term,Tate served as the ranking member of the House committee on General,Housing and Military Affairs. [1] In 2017,he resigned his seat to serve overseas in the navy.
Tate was born in Chillum,Maryland. When he was nine years old,his family moved to Vermont,where they had a home for over one hundred years. [2] He attended Houghton College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (minor in business). While in college,he hosted a radio show and played lacrosse. [3]
Tate was first elected as a representative in the Vermont House of Representatives for Rutland-Windsor 1 in 2014. He led in Killington,Mendon,Bridgewater and Chittenden. [4] In 2017,he won again. [5] On March 31,2017,he announced that he would be resigning due to deployment.
Tate is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabees. He is also a reservist who has served with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Two-Seven. [6] He is a heavy equipment operator,explosives expert,squad leader and combat warfare specialist. [3] He served as a Vermont lawmaker and resigned during the second term,to be deployed with the U.S. Navy Construction Battalions.
Tate is married to his wife Lisa. They have two sons and live in Mendon,Vermont. [2]
The Vermont Progressive Party,formerly the Progressive Coalition and Independent Coalition,is a political party in the United States that is active in Vermont. It is the third-largest political party in Vermont behind the Democratic and Republican parties. As of 2023,the party has one member in the Vermont Senate and five members in the Vermont House of Representatives,as well as several more affiliated legislators who caucus with the Democratic Party.

He previously served two terms as the 82nd lieutenant governor of Vermont,from 2017 to 2021. A member of the Vermont Progressive Party,he previously served in the Vermont House of Representatives for seven terms (1997–2011),and the Vermont Senate for two (2013–2017). In 2020,Zuckerman was a candidate for governor of Vermont. He ran with the support of both the Progressive Party and the Democratic Party,but lost to incumbent governor Phil Scott in the general election.
The Vermont National Guard is composed of the Vermont Army National Guard and the Vermont Air National Guard. Together,they are collectively known as the Green Mountain Boys. Both units use the original Revolutionary War-era Flag of the Green Mountain Boys as their banner. In 2009,they had 2,600 members.
The Rutland-Windsor-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002,2004,2006,2008,and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census.
