Jody Gooding is an ex-beach volleyball player for England and Great Britain who was the youngest-ever British champion.
He was born in Gloucester. [1] He attended school in Tuffley at St Peter's High School, Gloucester and Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. [2]

Previously based in Hermosa Beach, California, he competed on the world tour from 2007.
He won the men's championship with Paul Godwin at Weymouth in 2001 despite having a broken toe and whiplash injuries, and was named player of the tournament. [3] He won again in 2003 with Clayton Lucas.
Training on Sandbanks Beach, Dorset, [4] he won the Sandbanks Classic with Greg Weaver in 2004/2005. [5] He completed a hat-trick the following year with M Bowes. He won the Volleyball England Beach Championship at Brighton in 2007 with Steve Grotowski. [6]
In 2009, Gooding relocated to the UK beach volleyball HQ at TeamBath, part of the University of Bath. His team partner is Steve Grotowski, with whom he played at the FIVB World Series in Shanghai, China in 2009. He has played on the FIVB World Tour since 2007. He was the youngest-ever British champion. [1] He has won over 35 British Tour events. Jody currently has the highest finishes for a male athlete from Great Britain on the international stage a 13th place on the World Tour ad 9th Place on the European Tour.
2011 was a good year for Jody after getting a career high of 13th on the World Tour and beating all is other Great Britain rivals, he has put himself in Pole position for qualification to the 2012 Olympics with seven tournaments remaining,
Gooding appeared on Match of the Day with members of the Manchester United team to launch a government sport initiative.
It was announced on 22 November 2011 that Nutrition company NutritionX would be sponsoring and Supporting Jody in his push for a place at the London 2012 Olympics.
Gooding lives in a 175-year-old cottage in Midsomer Norton, Somerset with his wife, fellow beach volleyball player Denise Johns. [7] [8] They were married on 4 September 2011 in a ceremony held on the beach in Folly Beach, South Carolina. [9] He is a father to 3 children; Forde Francis Gooding, Taylor Gooding, and Blake Gooding.
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two players each on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Each team also works in unison to prevent the opposing team from grounding the ball on their side of the court.
Talita Antunes da Rocha is a Brazilian beach volleyball player, playing as a blocker. She was FIVB rookie of the year in 2005, and World Tour Winner twice, in 2013 and 2015.
Todd Jonathan Rogers is an American professional beach volleyball player who is an Olympic and FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship gold medalist. He and his former partner, Phil Dalhausser, were the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 AVP Tour champions.
Julius Brink is a German beach volleyball player who won the gold medal in the men's beach team competition at the 2006 European Beach Volleyball Championships in The Hague, Netherlands, partnering with Christoph Dieckmann. He took part at the Olympic Games in 2008.
Jonas Reckermann is a German retired beach volleyball player. Together with his most recent partner Julius Brink, he won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which, along with Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst are the most successful Olympic appearances of a German beach volleyball team. They were the first European duo to win the Olympic gold medal – male or female competition. In addition to that they also were the first European team ever to win a world championship title and are currently ranked 22nd on the FIVB World Tour.
Xue Chen is a Chinese beach volleyball player, measuring 191 centimetres in height. A 4-time Olympian, she won the bronze medal alongside Zhang Xi at the women's beach volleyball tournament of the 2008 Summer Olympics. In 2013, she won the gold medal also with Zhang at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, the first and only Asian team to do so.
The Nestea European Championship Tour is a European beach volleyball tour organised by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). It is the highest ranked European series of beach volleyball tournaments.
April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions.

Denise Johns is a professional beach volleyball player. She was born in Luxembourg, grew up in the US, but competes for Great Britain.
Alison Conte Cerutti is a Brazilian beach volleyball player. He plays as a blocker. In 2011, along with Emanuel Rego he won the Swatch FIVB World Tour in Prague, Czech Republic. and the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Netherlands. and the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio alongside teammate Bruno Schmidt. In 2019, Alison partnered with Álvaro Morais Filho. The team won their first gold medal at the FIVB Kuala Lumpur event. The duo also competed in the Tokyo 2020 journey. Since 2021 Alison has been playing with Guto Carvalhaes.
Oliver Venndt Kaszas is a Danish professional beach volleyball player. He and his brother, Sebastian Venndt Kaszas, represent the national team of Denmark. Oliver and Sebastian, known as The Kaszas Brothers, are sons of the former professional beach volley player Kim Kaszas.
Becchara Palmer is an Australian female beach volleyball player. She represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the beach volleyball women's tournament.
John Garcia Thompson is a British beach volleyball player.
Steven 'Steve' Grotowski is a British beach volleyball player.
Nina Brunner is a Swiss professional beach volleyball player who plays as a right side defender with her partner Tanja Hüberli. She is a two-time European Champion, winning the title in 2021 and 2023, the silver medallist at the 2018 and 2022 European Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2024 Summer Olympics. With her former partner Nicole Eiholzer, she won the gold medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Alongside Hüberli, Betschart has won combined total of 3 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals on FIVB World Tour and its successor Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Betschart / Hüberli team represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they finished in ninth place and played a pivotal role at their country's triumph in the women's event of the inaugural CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in 2022. They achieved a career-high World ranking of No. 2 in November 2021.
