Jody Rae Thompson is a Canadian actress, screenwriter and filmmaker working in film and television.
Thompson was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to mother Grace Diane, and father, Ray Thompson, the lead singer of Canadian garage rock band The Wiggy Symphony The couple regularly work as a Producing/Directing team with several projects having aired on CBC and Telus Optik. [1]
She is widely known for her regularly recurring character Devon Moore on the USA network's television series The 4400 , but is also recognized as the warrior queen Azura in the television series Flash Gordon and in other recurring television roles including Blade: The Series, Terminal City, and Cold Squad [2] and television appearances, including roles on Freedom, Fringe, Andromeda, Stargate, Smallville and Supernatural.
She has acted in leading and starring roles in feature films and MOW's like Perfect Little Angels, Fear of Flying, also Mission to Mars , Shanghai Noon , 2012 among others. She has co-starred with Eric McCormack in X-Files producer Bob Goodwin's independent film Alien Trespass and played David Arquette's wife in the made-for-television movie, Happy Face Killer.

Will of the Wisp, (experimental 8 min) underscoring a young woman's struggle with her history of sexual abuse in a society that places high value on sexual attractiveness. Received a special screening at the US Women in Psychology Conference, a Leo Award, Special Jury Prize at the Portland International Short-Short Film Festival and the Legacy Award, Women in Film Festival Vancouver. Funded by The Canada Council for the Arts. Thompson describes it as, "a silent film that speaks through a series of post-structuralist and surrealist signifiers in conversation."
Alyssa (doc series 3 x 5 min) In partnership with Dalhousie University. A young woman coming to terms with her diagnosis and undergoing chemo, thereby forfeiting her ability to have children. Acknowledged as an outstanding initiative by the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology. It stars Rhonda Dent and Gabrielle Rose of The Sweet Hereafter.

The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary festival in North America. The event takes place annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 27th edition of the festival took place online throughout May and June 2020. Charles Wilkinson is a Canadian documentary filmmaker and film and television director. He is best known for making documentaries that touch on environmental issues. These include Haida Modern, Vancouver: No Fixed Address, Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World, Oil Sands Karaoke, and Peace Out. All five films premiered at Hot Docs International Documentary Festival, and have gone on to win awards at Hot Docs, the Vancouver International Film Festival, le Festival International du Film sur l'Art - Artfifa, the DGC Awards, the Leo Awards and the Yorkton Film Festival. Before moving into documentaries, Wilkinson worked for many years in dramatic television series and on feature films. His directing credits include such TV series as The Highlander, The Immortal, So Weird, Dead Man's Gun, Road to Avonlea and The Beachcombers, the feature films My Kind of Town, Max, Blood Clan and Breach of Trust, and the TV movie Heart of the Storm. As a preteen, he was one of the original performers in the Calgary Safety Roundup, paired with his brother Billy as kid cowboy singers. "We sang both kinds - country and western."
Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World is a 2015 Canadian feature documentary film directed by Charles Wilkinson, and produced by Charles Wilkinson, Tina Schliessler, and Kevin Eastwood for the Knowledge Network. The film premiered on April 28, 2015 at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival where it won the award for Best Canadian Feature Documentary.
Edge of the Knife is a 2018 Canadian drama film co-directed by Gwaai Edenshaw and Helen Haig-Brown. It is the first feature film spoken only in the Haida language. Set in 19th-century Haida Gwaii, it tells the classic Haida story of a traumatized and stranded man transformed into Gaagiixiid, the wildman.

Now Is the Time is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Christopher Auchter and released in 2019. Created to mark the 50th anniversary of Haida artist Robert Davidson carving and erecting a totem pole on Haida Gwaii in 1969 for the first time in nearly a century, the film blends historical footage from Eugene Boyko's 1970 documentary film This Was the Time with contemporary footage, including the now elderly Davidson's own reflections on the historic importance of his project. The film was made as part of a National Film Board of Canada project, encouraging indigenous filmmakers to make new works responding to and recontextualizing the sometimes colonialist outsider perspectives reflected in many of the organization's old documentaries on First Nations and Inuit cultures.
Terri-Lynn Williams-Davidson is a Canadian First Nations lawyer, artist, activist, and author and a member of the Raven Clan from the Haida Nation. As a lawyer, Williams-Davidson specializes in Indigenous and environmental law, having represented the Haida Nation at all levels of court since 1996 and notably participating in the litigation of the Haida Nation's TFL39 Case to protect the old-growth forests of Haida Gwaii, a case that effectively altered the government's stance on the consultation and accommodation of Aboriginal Rights.
