Joseph Dominic Callero (born August 26, 1962) [1] is an American college basketball coach, most recently the head men's basketball coach at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). [2] He replaced outgoing coach Kevin Bromley in 2009. [3] [4]

Prior to accepting the job at Cal Poly, Callero spent eight seasons as the head coach at Seattle University. [3] [4]

Callero grew up with his Italian Catholic family in Enumclaw, Washington, and is one of 16 children. [5] He is married to his wife of 25 years, Erika and has a 21 year old daughter.

The 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 10, 2008, and ended with the 2009 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament's championship game on April 6, 2009, at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The season saw six different teams achieve the AP #1 ranking during the year. Oklahoma sophomore Blake Griffin was the dominant individual performer, sweeping National Player of the Year honors. The season began with North Carolina becoming the first unanimous preseason #1 team, and ended with the Tar Heels dominating the NCAA tournament en route to their fifth NCAA title. UNC won its six NCAA tournament games by double digits, and by an average of 19.8 points per game. Junior Wayne Ellington was named Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

The Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team represents Seattle University in NCAA Division I basketball competition. Established in 1946, the team was previously known as the Seattle Chieftains. The program experienced success during the 1950s and 1960s, reaching the NCAA Division I tournament 11 times. Led by 1958 No. 1 draft pick Elgin Baylor, Seattle finished runner-up in the 1958 NCAA University Division basketball tournament.

Joe Lombardi is an American basketball coach currently the head coach for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) Crimson Hawks of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II. Prior to taking the head coaching position at IUP, Lombardi served as an assistant coach, including a nine-year tenure at La Salle University and three season under Jamie Dixon at the University of Pittsburgh.
