Joseph William Gibson (born 17 January 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Middlesbrough. He spent a month on loan at National League North club Darlington in 2024.

Club career

Born in Chilton, Gibson joined Middlesbrough at under-9 level [3] and went on to make his debut during the 2021–22 campaign, featuring in their FA Cup third round tie against Mansfield Town, playing for 58 minutes before being replaced by Matt Crooks in the 3–2 victory. [4]

Gibson joined National League North club Darlington on 12 March 2024 on loan for a month. [5] He made his debut the same day, playing the last few minutes of a 2–1 win against Blyth Spartans that took his new team out of the relegation zone for the first time since August. [6] That was his only appearance. [2]
