Joe Karas was an American politician and businessman.
Born in Rice County, Minnesota, Karas was a farmer and manager of Farm Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He served in local government. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1949 to 1955 while residing in Pine City, Minnesota. [1]

He served as head coach of the Maine Black Bears from 2016 to 2018, leading them to a record of 20–15 in three season. His 2018 Maine Black Bears football team won the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs.
