Joel Richard Williams is a football coach and technical consultant, who also works as a football Commentator in India. He was also the founder of website 5Point4, that covered local sports news of Gibraltar. [1] Joel Williams is now working as head coach of academies for Gokulam Kerala F.C., India [2] as well as a commentator for All India Football Federation's I-League for 2019–20 season. [3]
Joel Williams started his career as an assistant manager at Europa Point F.C. and won the 2nd division cup, but lost to Europa Point F.C. itself in the final when he was the manager for F.C. Bruno's Magpies, the next season. Williams moved to Angels F.C. and later became the technical director for Arsenal Soccer Schools India. [4] [5]
Minerva Punjab F.C. brought in Williams as technical director and won the I-League 1st Division during the 2017-18 season. This being their first league win ever and it was also the first time a North Indian team winning the league since 1996. [6] He was also instrumental in Minerva's transfer policy in overseas signings of players like Kassim Aidara, William Opoku and Chencho Gyeltshen. [7] [8] Williams has been appointed as the head coach of academies of Gokulam Kerala F.C. from 15 April 2018 and soon he signed overseas players like Evgeniy Kochnev and Fabricio Ortiz for Gokulam Kerala FC.
