Joey's Song (CD series)

Joey's Song is the name of a series of music compilation CDs featuring nationally and internationally known artists who are donating their music to help raise awareness and monies to fight epilepsy. The Joey's Song CD series was launched by The Joseph Gomoll Foundation. The Joseph Gomoll Foundation was started in April 2010 following the death of 4-year-old Joey Gomoll. Over 100 artists have agreed to support and contribute original and rare musical content to the Joey's Song series of CDs.

History

Joey's Song was set up as a tribute to honor Joseph Martin Gomoll who died unexpectedly on March 30, 2010, aged 4. Joey was afflicted with Dravet’s Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, his entire life.

Aims and aspirations of the Joey's Song CD series

Since 2011, The Joseph Gomoll Foundation, headquartered in Wisconsin, has been releasing a series of CDs called Joey’s Song. All money raised is directly benefiting children with special needs and those suffering from seizures. The CDs feature donated rare and unreleased songs from major recording acts from around the world. There is a companion series of CDs of children’s music as well, most recorded specifically for Joey’s Song. [1]

The Foundation is planning to release multiple CDs annually.

All the Stuff Volume One is a compilation album by the Ramones. It includes their first two albums, Ramones and Leave Home, in their entirety, with the exception of "Carbona Not Glue," a song that was on the original release of Leave Home but was later removed from the album under pressure from the Carbona company and replaced with an early mix of "Sheena is a Punk Rocker." Also included are a handful of bonus tracks of varying origins: "I Don't Wanna Be Learned/I Don't Wanna Be Tamed" and "I Can't Be" were early, previously unreleased demos; "Babysitter" had originally been the b-side to the "Do You Wanna Dance?" single and was the first replacement of "Carbona Not Glue"; and the final two tracks, "California Sun" and "I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You," are live tracks recorded at The Roxy in Los Angeles, California and released as the b-sides of both the "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" and "I Remember You" singles in 1976. The Lost Masters is the name given to an album project to release unheard, rare and extended remixes of songs by the British pop group Bucks Fizz. Two albums were originally released: The Lost Masters in 2006, and The Lost Masters 2 - The Final Cut in 2008. A third single-disc volume was released in April 2012 as a double-pack which included a re-release of the group's 1986 album Writing on the Wall. Love Junk is the debut album by Canadian power pop band the Pursuit of Happiness, released in 1988. The Neil Young Archives is a longtime project by singer-songwriter Neil Young. It started as a series of archival releases featuring previously released as well as unreleased studio and live recordings. It eventually developed into a website featuring almost the whole of Young's recording output throughout his career, available for streaming in high resolution audio format. The project has been long in the making – work began in the late 1980s. Throughout its development, Young himself has made several statements about the material included, release dates, and marketing that have proven false as the project was modified for new multimedia formats and expanded upon to accommodate new releases or other relevant material.
