John E. Amari (born August 7,1948) is an American lawyer,politician and judge from Alabama.
Born in Roebuck in Jefferson County,Alabama,he received a B.A. from the University of Montevallo,followed by a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham. [2]
He was elected to terms in both the Alabama House and the Alabama Senate. [3] In 2006,he unsuccessfully sought election to the Alabama Public Service Commission, [4] but he was elected to a seat on the Alabama District 10 Circuit Court in 2008. [5]
He retired as a judge in 2019 and was replaced by Martha Cook. [6] [7]

John William Jones was an American politician, planter, educator and physician. Born in Maryland and raised in Kentucky, Jones served one term in the United States Congress representing Georgia's 3rd congressional district, before resuming his careers as a planter and physician in Alabama as well as helped found two female seminaries before returning to Georgia. During the American Civil War, Jones accepted a commission as a surgeon in the Confederate States Army, and postwar taught medicine in Atlanta.

Uriah W. Clemon is an Alabama attorney in private practice and a former United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Harry Toulmin was a Unitarian minister and politician. The son of noted Dissenting minister Joshua Toulmin, Toulmin fled his native England for the United States after he and his followers were persecuted for their beliefs. He arrived in Virginia in 1793, and aided by recommendations from Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe, he was chosen president of Transylvania Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. His Unitarian views, however, offended many of the orthodox Presbyterian members of Transylvania's board of regents, and Toulmin resigned after two years.
Robert Julian Bentley is an American former politician and physician who served as the 53rd governor of Alabama from 2011 until 2017 upon his resignation following his arrest after a sex scandal involving a political aide. A member of the Republican Party, Bentley was elected governor in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
The 2014 Alabama gubernatorial election took place on November 4, 2014, to elect the governor of Alabama. Incumbent Governor Robert J. Bentley won a second term over Democrat Parker Griffith. This was the first Alabama gubernatorial race where either Choctaw and/or Conecuh counties voted Republican. This alongside the concurrent Senate race is the last time Jefferson County voted Republican in any statewide election. Bentley did not complete this term; he resigned in April 2017 due to a scandal and was succeeded by fellow Republican Kay Ivey.

Ivey was sworn in for her first full term on January 14, 2019. This was the first time since 1966 that a woman was elected Governor of Alabama.
