Yulee is a Census County Division (CCD) located within Nassau County,Florida,in the United States. Positioned in northeastern Florida,Yulee lies directly south of the Florida-Georgia state line,marked by the St. Marys River. Furthermore,it is situated 24 miles north of downtown Jacksonville,Florida. As of the latest survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau in 2021,the CCD's population is recorded at 36,742. Yulee is a constituent of the Jacksonville metropolitan area,which encompasses an estimated population of approximately 1.68 million individuals as of 2022. Trinity International University (TIU) is an evangelical Christian university headquartered in Deerfield,Illinois. It comprises Trinity College,Trinity Graduate School,a theological seminary,a law school,and a camp called Timber-lee. The university also maintains campuses in North Lauderdale,Florida &Miami,Florida;the camp is located in East Troy,Wisconsin. TIU is the only university affiliated with Evangelical Free Church of America in the United States and enrolls about 2,700 students. On February 17,2023,TIU announced it was moving the undergraduate program to online modalities only and closed the residential campus at the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) is a private Nazarene university in Bourbonnais,Illinois. Named for its founding location,Olivet,Illinois,ONU was originally established as a grammar school in east-central Illinois in 1907. In the late 1930s,it moved to the campus in Bourbonnais. Jacksonville University (JU) is a private university in Jacksonville,Florida. Located in the city's Arlington district,the school was founded in 1934 as a two-year college and was known as Jacksonville Junior College until September 5,1956,when it shifted focus to building four-year university degree programs and later graduated its first four-year degree candidates as Jacksonville University in June 1959. In May 2021,Richard McCullough was chosen by Florida State University’s Board of Trustees to succeed Thrasher.
Alvin Brown is an American politician from Florida who served as mayor of Jacksonville,Florida,from 2011 to 2015. He was the first African American to be elected to that position. Brown succeeded John Peyton as mayor after winning the 2011 mayoral election. In the 2015 race,he lost his re-election bid to Republican Lenny Curry.
Gregory Adam Haile is an American lawyer and higher education administrator who served as the seventh president of Broward College,part of the Florida College System. He was selected by the Broward College Board of Trustees on May 9,2018,. and was formally installed as president on March 29,2019. Haile resigned in September 2023 for unknown reasons.
