John Bailer

John Bailer is an American statistician. He is University Distinguished Professor of Statistics at Miami University in Ohio, USA. He is also affiliated with the Departments of Media, Journalism and Film, Biology and Sociology and Gerontology at Miami. His work focuses on risk assessment in occupational health, and combining journalism to statistics. He created the podcast Stats+Stories, which “Addresses The Story Behind The Statistics And The Statistics Behind The Stories.” It is sponsored by the American Statistical Association and is hosted on National Public Radio podcasts and other podcast locations. In 2021, Bailer and his podcast colleagues received the JBPM Communications Award.

Bailer received his PhD in Biostatistics from University of North Carolina in 1986. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association [1] and of the Society for Risk Analysis, [2] an elected member of the International Statistical Institute [3] and an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. [4] He has received several Distinguished Teaching awards at Miami University, and the Founders Award [5] of the American Statistical Association. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Statistical Institute 2013-2021, serving the last two years as president.

He has published some 150 peer-reviewed papers and five books.

John Ashworth Nelder was a British statistician known for his contributions to experimental design, analysis of variance, computational statistics, and statistical theory.

Joseph Michael Hilbe was an American statistician and philosopher, founding President of the International Astrostatistics Association(IAA) and one of the most prolific authors of books on statistical modeling in the early twenty-first century. Hilbe was an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association as well as an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), for which he founded the ISI astrostatistics committee in 2009. Hilbe was also a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and Full Member of the American Astronomical Society.

The International Statistical Institute (ISI) is a professional association of statisticians. It was founded in 1885, although there had been international statistical congresses since 1853. The institute has about 4,000 elected members from government, academia, and the private sector. The affiliated Associations have membership open to any professional statistician. The institute publishes a variety of books and journals, and holds an international conference every two years. The biennial convention was commonly known as the ISI Session; however, since 2011, it is now referred to as the ISI World Statistics Congress. The permanent office of the institute is located in the Statistics Netherlands building in Den Haag - Leidschenveen, in the Netherlands.

Andrew Gelman American statistician

Andrew Gelman is an American statistician, professor of statistics and political science at Columbia University. He earned an S.B. in mathematics and in physics from MIT, where he was a National Merit Scholar, in 1986. He then earned his Ph.D. in statistics from Harvard University in 1990 under the supervision of Donald Rubin.

Frédéric Y. Bois

Malay Ghosh Statistician and professor

Malay Ghosh is an Indian statistician and currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Florida. He obtained a B.S. in 1962 from the University of Calcutta, and subsequently a M.A. in 1964 from the University of Calcutta. Professor Noel Cressie is an Australian and American statistician. He is a Distinguished Professor and Director, Centre for Environmental Informatics, at the University of Wollongong in Wollongong, Australia.

Shelley Hurwitz is an American biostatistician. She is the Director of Biostatistics in the Center for Clinical Investigation at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and an associate professor in the Harvard Medical School.

Fabrizio Ruggeri is an Italian statistician. He is Research Director at the National Research Council Istituto di matematica applicata e tecnologie informatiche (CNR-IMATI) in Milan, Italy.
