John Christopher "Chris" Zander (January 16, 1966 - June 26, 2025) was an American political writer who used the nom de plume The Z-Man. He created his own website called "The Z Blog".
Born in Chesapeake, Virginia, he attended Boston College and became a software engineer and businessman. Later, Zander created a popular weekly podcast called "The Z-Man Power Hour". He was frequently invited to speak and write for websites, podcasts, youtube channels, and conferences. His website hosted the John Derbyshire Radio Derb podcast during its final year with Zander dying shortly after this final 1000th episode. [1]
Xander died on June 26, 2025, at the age of 59, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. His funeral mass was held at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. [2]
