John Debra Sapong (born December 1929) was a Ghanaian judge and barrister. He served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana from 1999 to 2000.
Sapong was born December 1929 in the Gold Coast. [1] He was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn. [2] He began his judicial career as a District Magistrate in Accra. [3] He later became a Circuit Court judge stationed in Koforidua in the 1970s. [4] He rose through the ranks through the Appeal Court [5] to become a Supreme Court Judge in 1999. He was nominated in 1999 and vetted on 10 March [6] that year together with Josiah Ofori Boateng. He was approved by parliament on 30 March 1999 [1] and was sworn in on 15 April 1999. [7] He retired on 2 June 2000. [8]
Edmund Alexander Lanquaye Bannerman was the Chief Justice of Ghana between 1970 and 1972. He was the fourth person to hold this position since Ghana became an independent nation in 1957. He was removed from office by the National Redemption Council,the military government in power after the coup of 13 January 1972 that ended the Second Republic of Ghana.

She was sworn into office as the 15th Chief Justice of Ghana on 12 June 2023.
