John Eplee (born March 24,1953) is an American politician. He has served as a Republican member for the 63rd district in the Kansas House of Representatives since 2017. [1] [2]
John William Carlin is an American educator and politician who served as the 40th governor of Kansas from 1979 to 1987,and the archivist of the United States from May 30,1995,to February 15,2005. He teaches at Kansas State University as a visiting professor and previously operated a website to advance civic engagement. Carlin is also a member of the ReFormers Caucus of Issue One.
The 2006 Kansas gubernatorial election took place on November 7,2006. Incumbent Democratic Governor Kathleen Sebelius,who sported high approval ratings ran for re-election to serve a second and final term. Governor Sebelius was unopposed for the Democratic nomination and she faced the Republican nominee,State Senator Jim Barnett,who emerged from a crowded primary. Sebelius soundly defeated Barnett and cruised to re-election,which was quite a considerable feat for a Democrat in staunchly conservative Kansas. This was Sebelius's second time winning a majority and was part of a trend from 1984 to 2010 where 7 of 8 Kansas gubernatorial elections were won with a majority rather than a simple plurality. No candidate received a majority of votes in 2014,2018 or 2022.
