Martin John McManus is a former Australian politician. Born in Hobart, Tasmania, he trained first in electrical and industrial electronics. Later completing tertiary studies in teaching. He is the great-grandson of Edward Mulcahy, a long-serving Tasmanian Senator and MHA. On 19 October 2001, he was elected as a Liberal Member to the Tasmanian House of Assembly for the seat of Franklin in a recount caused by the resignation of Peter Hodgman. He was defeated for re-election in 2002—when both the leader and deputy leader of the Liberal Party also lost their seats. Martin McManus served as an alderman for the Clarence City Council, first elected in October 1996 and also as Deputy Mayor. He remained an elected member for the City of Clarence for 17 years, concluding in October 2014. The electoral division of Hobart is one of the 15 electoral divisions in the Tasmanian Legislative Council. It was originally created in 1856 when the Council became the upper house of the Parliament of Tasmania. The seat was abolished in 1999 and re-created in 2008 after a redistribution saw the former division of Wellington returned to its former name.
Susanne Lynnette Hickey is an Australian politician. She represented the electorate of Denison from the 2018 state election until her defeat at the 2021 election, sitting with the Liberal Party until March 2021, when she quit the party and became an independent. Hickey is currently Mayor of the City of Glenorchy.

The Tasmanian Liberal Party, officially known as the Liberal Party of Australia (Tasmanian Division) and more simply as the Tasmanian Liberals, is the state division of the Liberal Party of Australia in Tasmania. The party currently governs in Tasmania as the only Liberal government in Australia above the local level. The party is part of the federal Liberal Party of Australia, currently in opposition.

Anna Reynolds is an Australian politician who has served as the Lord Mayor of Hobart in Tasmania since November 2018. Reynolds ran in the 2022 Hobart City Council election as the leader of the Your Hobart Independents ticket.
Dean Winter is a Tasmanian Labor politician currently serving as Tasmanian Opposition Leader and Leader of the Tasmanian Labor Party. He was elected as Mayor of Kingborough Council in 2018, and was elected to the Tasmanian House of Assembly at the 2021 Tasmanian state election, as an MP for Franklin.
Periodic elections for the Tasmanian Legislative Council were held on 4 May 2024. The two seats up for periodic election were Hobart and Prosser. A by-election for the seat of Elwick was also held concurrently.
The 2022 Hobart City Council election was held in October 2022 to elect a lord mayor, deputy lord mayor and 12 councillors to the City of Hobart. The election was held as part of the statewide local elections in Tasmania, Australia.
Helen Christina BurnetMP is an Australian politician representing the division of Clark in the House of Assembly since the 2024 Tasmanian state election. Prior to this she was Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart and a member of the Hobart City Council.
